The biggest one IS a male. Almost twice as big as his sibs. The runt passed away this morning. The mom kept pushing her out. I know this is how mother nature works. But I am having a hard time with her with the other pups now. She was such a good mother last time (3 years ago). Now this time she is not being such a good mother.

It all goes with it Tiffin, I lost two out of the same litter the same way,they just won`t take care of one no matter what you do. I have made them let the pup nurse and go back out and it would be away from mom. Don`t beat yourself up.

Nice litter same thing with my last litter, she kept the rut away,had total of four litters with her in eight years all of the litter before all lived good luck with them

Well, we have lost 4 out of the 5. Vet says they got fading puppy syndrome and that it is more prelavent in winter litters. Even though we keep them in the house and it is warm. We have 1 pup left and so far he seems to be beating it. It's tough and I know there are going to be some disappointed people out there.

Sorry for your loss Tiff...

Those were some nice puppies and I agree, you problem was not with puppies but the mama. She told me in the picture you posted, " I despise these pups and all this event, I want things the way they were before". I saw no mother instinct, she lay there with her head down between her paws, not looking to you or taking notice of the puppies, she was upset.
I've seen this before and it makes you wish you had another bitch with whelps that you could move the puppies too.
