There is an expiration date on the bag, 1 year from date of manufacture. Depending on when the feed store got their order will depend on how long it will keep at your place.

2500, I try not to get more than a 3-4 month supply at a time. Doing this seems to keep my feed fresher. I've never had an issue with it going "bad" that I know of but it just made more sense to me after the first time I bought a big order.

I feed Black Gold 26/18 (Black Bag), Most people say a dog should only have 1 stool a day and 1 1/2 cups of feed a day, well I disagree, All my dogs get 2 1/2 cups a day (sometimes with table scraps)...period, they will have a couple stools a day, I dont worry on the amount of stool they have there is clean up no matter what, I dont mind the extra 5-10 mins of clean up, I worry about if they had enough feed for the day and what the stool consist of (firm/solid) , It is recommended on the bag (Black Gold 26/18, Black bag) for a 13-25 lbs dog to have 1 /34 to 2 1/2 cups a day and Show dogs and "Working dogs" will require additional amounts depending on their degree of activity, My dogs run at least 5 days a week weather in the field or just in the back yard they get ran and they stay busy (I have 102 acres to run) , I would not sleep at night knowing my dogs are hungry, Cant expect 100% from a dog that only gets 75% from his owner

I have been feeding Sport mix 26 18 dureing the cold part of the season. Run heck out of my hounds and they have been doing real good. Just went today and bought 24/20 black. Warming up now and gus and Cain expend a lot of energy and are thin in the hips. All my females are in great shape and should do good on the 24/20. I tried diamond and a couple other feeds but the stool stunk so bad I had to hold my breath to clean it up. (Probably not long enough huh :)
I got my adv from Cojax and I am very satisfied with the results. Thanks Jim.

I changed from Buddy Boy 24-20 ( Meat and bone meal, ground yellow corn..ect.) to
Diamond Naturals Chicken and Rice 26-16 and my clean up has dropped greatly , I believe the corn made more of a mess. I'm getting half the stool to what I feed them, with Buddy Boy I got about 3 times as much stool as I fed them. It was crazy.
The price is a little more , but my hounds look and act better. I say , like many on here have said , feed the best you can afford.
