I am about to go run some snowshoes (I have never done it ...yet) I hear they will run in deep snow as a cottontail will not

Hares run in any snow, they won't go to a hole or pile,

Hey Paul,
I don't think anyone gets the amont of snow that you do.
My son just graduated from Tech in Dec. and still lives in Houghton for now, and he tells me of days on end of snow.
