From observations I've seen so far and what has been related to me by folks I trust, a hound named "New Country Gambler" has been producing some fine hounds. I guess it helps bundles that Gambler is line-bred IFC Taylor's Sock It To Me! I've been told that gambler could have easily finished for his FC title if he had been trialed, and had smoked several well known FC's on more than 1 occasion, and most importantly, seems to produce likewise hounds.

I also ditto Kim's post, Pink's Little Buger Man has produced many fine, well rounded hounds that are likewise producing fine hounds themselves.

Blazing Trails Blue Smoke , owned by Earl Rice is throwing nice pups. He could have made FC in my opinion, but he was off. meas. a little over 13".

This will contain mostly dams as most will not breed to a male without a title. However there have been a few excellent non-titled studs and lots of dams.
Greenbriar Brankos Tootsie, Brankos Speedy Devil, Stonehedge Nifty Girl, Haunted Hill Halo, Anna's Ann to start. Brankos Conman and Phantom of the Opera produced well.

Is Sampson still living and reproducing? I have a son of his that is 6 now. Anyone have anything out of Sampson that is a color other than lemon/white? Mine is lemon/white with an almost all white face. He is my choice gundog and has done well in the limited hunts I've had him in. Last year I had him in 3 hunts and he finished 3rd all three, once out of 33 hounds in 85-90 degree temps. Sampson throws hounds with natural toughness and in my experience they are first gundogs and then trial hounds, exactly what I needed when he came along, as my 15 year old female had just died. Also, anyone know his history, as to why he was never trialed?

To Dramey - Dexter Reffett has a dog by the name of Black Magic that is out of Sampson. He is a full 15 inch Black and TAn. He is Sampson X with KY MN Sarah II who was out of FC Northway Ninja. I have heard very good things about the Black Magic dog but have not actually seen him run. Dexter has been breeding Magic some he is around 3 years old and most of his pups are very young.
