breeders guarantee
This is a question for all you regular breeders. Do you put guarantees on the puppys you sell that they will run rabbits to the new owners expectations? And if so how is it handaled as far as refund or a new puppy when another litter comes along. Just curious on the differant ways this is handaled.

Re: breeders guarantee
I guarantee mine if bought at 8 weeks for 1 year if they are not running in 1 year i will give 100% of money back I will not guarantee 1 to suit you But if it dont i will still consider buying it back The only thing you cannot control how much someone hunts one but if they hunt ant at all they will get mine started I have had one brought back but i think the guy didnt hunt him 7 days after he brought him back he was running He went to Larry Perry and is 6 years old now and still at his home now i think

As far as that goes for me I think that lays on the buyer of the dog,if they dont do what they need then they end up with a couch dog but if they spend time with it it should do what it was born to do,My big issue is health of the animal!!

Re: breeders guarantee
I know this is being kinda picky but here is how I would do it!! If a active trialer is buying the dog I would guarantee it but if its just a rabbit season hunter I would not cause I know some guys that only get the dogs out of the kennel during rabbit season and even then only a few times but as a trialer I would hope they try their hardest on the pup!! Jmo!!

I find johns03272008 comment to be alittle rediculous. All I do is hunt my dogs in winter and run for the sound of music the rest of the year. I have my dogs out 6 out of 7 days a week for a total of about 20 hrs a week more if I can. I see more trialers than hunters with a hording mentality when it comes to dogs to the point they could never give any one of there dogs the time needed unless its the ONE they trial jmo.

Re: breeders guarantee
In my opinion the new owner`s expectations may far exceed the capabilities of any dog walking. That would be a sure way of getting a dog back.I agree with whats been posted, hunt hunt train, train, keep them in the field. They can`t learn any thing in the pen.
If you have seen my video`s I start mine as soon as their old enough to get around with just walking them around the dam, talking to them and giving them commands. I would give the new owner the original purchase price a year later as long as they had put plenty of time in the dog and it was in good health.

Nothing aginst trialers but i would alot druther guaratee to a hunter because not every dog is gona meet the standards of a competition dog but that is why i guaratee my pups to start and run not win a hunt I dont sell alot of pups but if one is brought back and they say it want start i can tell if the dog hasnt been hunted alot of times not always but most of the time I will not honor the guaratee 1 day past a year because a year old is not to late to get started
Re: breeders guarantee
Mine don`t even come close to fittin into the trial aspect

Re: breeders guarantee
Let me clarify a little about why I said that I was only meaning it for the dog starting not fitting their needs if the dog starts then good but I cant control how it is ran or how it is ran!! I just know to many strict rabbit hunters that only run during rabbit season and only even then do they get out a few times and then are not ran agin till nwxt season where as a trialer myself I only go to buy a dog I am strongly interested in and therefor will want to get as much time on that hound as possible I find myself running more no that im mostly a pleasure runner and don't need to shot any rabbits not saying rabbit hunters don't run alot I just looking at it from what I know!! Which is not alot!! Jmomjs bunnybuster wrote:I find johns03272008 comment to be alittle rediculous. All I do is hunt my dogs in winter and run for the sound of music the rest of the year. I understand that, I do kill a few during gun season but mostly run to hear the music.I have three places I can run all year long, love to run at night a lot after season goes out. The only bad thing here is the dang snakes in the river swamp and the beaver pond swamp. I breed for size and speed and they are pretty crazy some times. Dosen`t take long to tell if a hound has it or not. N thats according to what I think a hound should do.
N I surely don`t know ever thing n don`t claim to.

Re: breeders guarantee
When you buy an unstarted pup it's a gamble, some make it some don't. Only guarantee should be the pups health.
Expecting a carjacker or rapist or drug pusher to care that his possession or use of a gun is unlawful is like expecting a terrorist to care that his car bomb is taking up two parking spaces

Said it the way it is Hoss. No pussy footing around and no political correctness. When a man buys a health puppy and walks out the door, it is his. Too many buyers and cryers on here as it is.

Re: breeders guarantee
That would hold true to a puppy mill but a breeder that has had several litters from the same cross should know what he is selling I dont sell alot of off pups and dont do it for a living I dont sell nothing i wouldnt keep myself
