DOGTRA by far. Best range and customer services bar none. I have had my 2000NC for 8 years now and I had to replace the stimulous points on the collar. Sent it in to dogtra and they put new ones on and changed all the rubber guards on remote for FREE. They also put a 6 month warranty back on it without no questions asked.

Re: Done with Tri Tronic
I have a buddy that has also told me that the service with tri tronics was horrable, that they were rude and talked to him like he was an idot, then one person told him that he was covered under the warranty then he shipped it to them and they kept his system forever then when he contacted them they said they lost his system, was still going to charge him, then they found it and shipped it back to him and he is still fighting with them over his system not working correctly....its just one thing after another...I hope nothing happens to my system because who really has the money to spend a fortune on these systems then them mess up for no reason in no time and then us spend countless hours on the phone argueing with some support tech.

I have a trashbreaker G2 ESP and have lost one with a red collar. I have the black and blue collar. Anyone have one in good shape for sale. I would take two if cheap enough. Don't need a transformer.

I HAVE BEEN USING SPORT DOG FOR SEVERAL YEARS NOW WITH NO PROBLEMS.
Re: Done with Tri Tronic
Here is the link to Dogtra's site..Check out the 1804NC this is a 4 dog unit...But i do not know of ANYBODY that makes one in a 2 mile range WHY would you need 2 miles anyways??? Mine very seldom get past a mile out and thats to far. I am gettin them back or going to them by then been my experience that if they are gonna get out that far and get off game they need more training anyways IMHO. Most of the shocking systems I have ever seen are almost always advertised at One mile but thats FLAT ground line of site your gonna be lucky if you get 1/2 mile with ANY system...In My mind Dependability is the key!!! I Would rather KNOW I am able to hit them at 1/4 mile than Wonder!!! And I get that with the Dogtracpuckett wrote:does the dogtra make a 2 mile range in the 4 dog unit

Re: Done with Tri Tronic
Well I guess I'm the odd man out. All I have owned is tri-tronic, I have a classic 70 two dog, and a classic 70 three dog. I can't remember the exact cost, because I have had these sets for a looong time! But when the batteries were in need of replacing I talked to tri-tronics and they told me to just send them in and they would upgrade to the comparable G-70 out at that time, very reasonable price, not much more than batteries, both units were rehabbed and sent back in a decent time frame, customer service was top notch! Believe me, I am hard to please! When I'm spending my money for someone to do something for me, I think there should be no regrets or issues after the fact, and I had nothing but great service from them. Only had to send 1 collar back after a while and there were no issues, replaced w/o any issues! Now I have not dealt with them in the last 6-7 years so I don't know if anything has changed but it will take alot more than this thread to make me want to switch. Now, like I said I have older models, maybe the new ones are junk? I'm not meaning to ruffle anyones feathers, just my experience! Also..... Ford makes the best pick-up! Period!

Re: Done with Tri Tronic
Found this on another site.
Sportdog 2500 only been used a couple times i have 4 collars you can add up to 6 very nice unit. 375.00 firm 912-978-0223 Randy
I don't know nothing a bout it.
I've had tri-tronics from the start, the old beagler, then the ones you couldn't leave on the charger got me in trouble, now the 6 dog you can leave on the charger again, no problems. one time i used the collar clinic for service.

Re: Done with Tri Tronic
I had Dogtra prior to switching to TriTronics, when you compare range on my Trashbreaker to the Dogtra it's not even a match. The battery life, range, durabilty, and easily replaced by the user batteries the TriTronics is a much better system in my opinion. I also like being able to tone all 6 dog collars independently, I don't have to fuss with a little rubber plug to get to my charging port. It's also a better deal if you need to expand your system down the road, if I get another dog that I want to add onto my system I pay $130 for a collar and add it to my current system up to 6 dogs total, with the Dogtra if I buy an 1802 and get a third dog I need to upgrade my entire system to a 1804 and then when I get dog number 6 I guess I get to carry two remotes....not a good deal in my opinion. I'm not sponsored by either system so I have no financial interest either way but for my money I'll take a Trashbreaker EXP over anything Dogtra offers.TrlBustinBeagle wrote:DOGTRA by far. Re: Done with Tri Tronic
I have a Dogtra 4 collar set I am going to sell ONLY because I am out of dogs for the time being. I'll stand side by side with any Tri Tronics model and compare their two mile range to mine. One collar was lost but done called and they can replace it. Only $225 with chargers, case, test light, one week trial. Elizabethtown, Ky. 270 737 9700 Just looked right down on this same page this morning and saw another guy with a Tri Tronics problem.

When folks compare the number of problems you see posted on Tritronics units they might want to consider how many units are in use......I bet it's easily 3 to 1 TriTronics for most of the gun dog crowd.

Re: Done with Tri Tronic
I have been a tri tronics customer for over twenty years and have had no reason to change. when ever I have had a problem they have always came through for me. When the beagler came out it had it's issues with batteries and they kept sending me new ones until the issue was resolved. This month I had a G3 reciever that wouldn't take a charge and they replaced it with a new one, no charge. The only other system that I have purchased was a Dt back in the Mid 80's. I wasn't happy with it's performence and have stuck with Tri tronics every since. I like the fact that they are made in America

Re: Done with Tri Tronic
We love our Sport Dog, but found out after we bought it that you lose the tone button when you add a 3rd collar. That's the whole reason we went with them. We were going to go with TriTronic next time, but now I'm not so sure.
Oh, and you need 2 miles in some of these hills. Especially when the dogs are after a swamp rabbit.

Re: Done with Tri Tronic
I have a tri tronic since 1996. i've sent it in for servicing a couple of times(new batteries and such) Ihaven't had any problems with service or the people working there. They sent me a confirmation # and a tracking # and even called me a few weeks after it arrivedto see how it was working.
