TRITONICS ISSUE

Post by RODNEY KNIFLEY »

just wondering if any one can tell me what is going on with my classic 70 g2 exp upto 6 collars.i have one collar that when i put it in the charging craddle some times it will charge like it supposed to,next time you try to charge it the light will come on red like it supposed to,then in a few seconds the light will go off ,i have cleaned contact points, and sometimes when i put in craddle it will stay chargeing for awhile,i will come back and check it and the light has went out,no green light showing that it is full charged.i have 4 charging craddles it does the same thing on each,so its not the craddle, and all my other collars no problem.any help appreciated.thanks ,rodney WISHING EVERYONE A MERRY CHRISTMAS AND A HAPPY NEW YEAR

My guess is that you need a new battery for it. If it does this in every cradle and ONLY this collar its almost gotta be the battery not charging properly. You can find out for sure by switching batteries with one of your other collars and see if it still has issues...if so, its NOT the battery obviously and you would probably need a new receiver.

Have you been storing it out of the cold, cause I had mine out in the garage and it wouldn't charge for me either. TriTronics says to make sure the batteries are at room temperature. I brought them in and let them warm up and they charged fine. So that might be it.

I bought a six collar unit exp between 4/5 yrs ago,the only the only problem I`ve had, the slot for the collar broke on one,two more have cracked but taped them still working fine. It will reach out and touch them.

From what I hear a lot of times seems like the more collars you run on Tri tronics the more problems you have. Not always the case but seems to be more often than not. :???:

Might want to take a Qtip and some alcohol to clean the contacts on the collar unit.

How old is the unit. My unit is 2 yrs old now. I had the same problem with 3 out of 6 of my collars, Tri-Tronics sent me new batteries, didn't work, they had me send them in for servive. Apparently they had a bad batch of collars. If their still under warranty, call tri tronics, let them know your having the same problem as I did, get a order # from them and send them in for service.
Hope this helps.
