Who said "Guys who trial don't hunt"?

Here is a pic from today's hunt 12/18/10. in the picture is from left to right back row. Jeremy DeRosso- his dog was camera shy... Joe Kuklenski, Myself, in the front was Kevin Orr and Butch Saari. We took out 8 dogs and rotated them through. we went to two different location in North central WI. The snow was only about a 12-14" and the snow was like sugar. scenting seemed to be pretty bad. The dogs really struggled but running was still enjoyable for most. Joe, once again brought all the fixings for the fire. We also would have done better if some of the guys were better shots. and the dogs weren't so darn rabbit hungry. I think the guys from Wisconsin missed more than Michigan shot. Even thought it wasn't our best time out we all agreed that hunting normally is always better than going to a trial..

Here is a picture from last weeks hare hunt in Michigan.

Buschbound, that first picture you posted would have ended up on one of my covers. What a great pic! I like when people take the time to pose up their hunting trips. The old-timers did it a lot, and it makes looking back at history a delight. Again, great pic! I might hafta see if you will let me us it on the home page for a while. ;)

Nice looking pictures Dave,if conditions are as bad there as they are here,i'd say you guys had a hell of a day. I had to crawl on my hands and knees yesterday to try an get to the dogs, the snow and ice has got all the branches laying down. Was there any particular dog,or dogs that really stood out?
