A couple of guys I hunt with have them in 20 gauge, it's a very nice over/under for the money. If you compare it to the mossberg silver reserve which costs the same, there is actually no comparison the 512 is a nice gun. I'd like to get one in 28 gauge.

Do not own a 512, but I have handled them. I believe they are made in the Huglu plant in Turkey. Here goes, Action is stiff, and this is not strictly because they are new. "Gold" pheasants on the sides are extremely cheesy and I would be suprised if one of them didn't fall off. They are not a Browning Superposed by any means, but they are not asking the price of a Superposed for one of them. If you have a hankering for a over /under I think you are getting a fair return for your money on a 512. If any of you want to purchase one in 410 and want me to give you an honest opinion based on long term use , send it to me, I will do my part and buy the shells.

I like mine wasn't much so I put a Sling on it.Mine was stiff till I put about 30 rds thru it now its fine. Had no trouble with the selector or safety. Shoots great and the weight isn't bad for a cheaper OU.

Hey John,
I have been doing a lot of rabbit hunting before the deer season started. i just got a nice male from a fellow in Michigan and hope to add him to my pack for the second and third season. I got tired of these dogs with ....conditions...these males of mine are a blast to hunt over but the females have been an adventure. the Jessee bitch is awesome at times and other times she is so darn irritable that i almost want to shoot her instead of the rabbit. I hate the second year with a dog after her first year was so GREAT. now she acts like a monkey humping a football. drives me nuts. I have an older bitch that hunts real well but gets stuck in a check everyone once in a while and draws the young dogs back so I dont take her. and on and on..hoping this yound male solves these problems. we will have to get together and run some dogs and shoot some bunnies. maybe meet in the middle ..near Toms and shoot all his bunnies...haha

Bells Run Kennels. I am a little confused on your post. Does one of the dogs you mentioned shoot a Stevens 512?

Sounds good Bill, we will have to make some plans for a hunt. And Mr. Young, if you would read the posts he was responding to my post asking him about hunting!
