I understand the rule book and we look at some rules in a different way and thats ok. My biggest problem with the midwest is accomplishment over style that to is in your rule book. being out of a judges check area is another one. I have yet to see the defination of a check AREA i know what a check is and recovery but i do not know what a check area is 50 by 50 100 by 100 inside out where did the front dog last smell the rabbit. We will never know these answers to these questions. And thats ok I just what a dog to find the rabbit that was lost and move it out and get it back to me as soon as possible thats just me. These are really the only issues I have with this format and thats why i do not run akc midwest because i do not breed a hound or care rather he works inside or out or has to reach to find a check. As long as he or she is the one fixing the mistakes rather he or she is the one causing the mistakes who cares. Thats just me. If the dogs are on the ground together long enough if you watch they will tell you who is dominating the chase. Some will watch another dog search for check some will run off the cliff and some will just not run with others because they either cannot handle the pressure or the other dog is full of it. Only time can sort that out and i have in the past maybe not today because i have heard some very good things about akc midwest lately. But also bad that comes with the territory of all organizations. I tell you the truth when i say i love beagles and trialing I will tell you though my personal opinion is the best people exsist in the american rabbit hound association by far. I have not had near the clashes with this group of people and i have never seen a love for a sport that these people show for the fellow houndsmen and hounds. People like jeff hayes adam and greg hughes ron eades earl meades tony upton who in my eyes is the best judge i have ever seen. I could go on and on. Maybe it has changed i do not know and i would love to run dogs with you but never at akc midwest trial. But maybe someday when you have a day to waste we can cut them loose for 6 or so hours and see what you have and you can see what i have i get more out of that then a trial. merry xmas.

i agree that little pack guys and ladies are a good group of people that said frank keep doing a good job in little pack, you held a great little world hunt even though my dog got measured out i still had a great time. The only thing i disagree with frank is i am the best judge in little pack if we don't get a rabbit up lol... jay hershberger, adam yoder and i will come down and run dogs soon.

Frank Please Read ARHA Definiton of Check Area.......Worry about changing the format you run!

1. Definition: A check occurs when it is evident that the hounds in pursuit of the
rabbit have lost it for 15 seconds, or more. The hounds do not have to shut up
barking for 15 seconds in the check area for it to be considered a check, only lose
it to where they cannot make forward progress with the rabbit for 15 seconds. A
hound must claim the check by giving mouth and making forward progre

Does this really define the check area? Is the ARHA check area defined in feet, yards, meters, inches, etc....like you asked about AKC Mid West

ridgeview do not know who you are but if you had half a brain maybe you would understand what i was saying but maybe i expect to much. Everytime someone puts their opinion on this web page that does not run akc someone like you gets bent out of shape. but i am not mad at you and can only imagine what you feed. I know this i will not starve hunting over my hounds and the rabbit will not die of old age before he gets back to the gun unless of course my dogs catch him. Pursue to catch and thats probley hard for your hounds to do when they are always looking down.

In reference to the dogs I run Lumberjack Bred! And about to add some Turbo in there so Enough Said! And the best thing about it I'm the one feeding them!

In reference to a half a brain; real classy my friend. Takes a real man to insult someone on a computer. Not once have I said a word about your intelligence, attitude, arrogance, and defensive post after everytime someone either disagrees or shows you the facts. I have not said one word trashing ARHA and I will not because I don't care. Run what you like, it doesn't get any simplier than that. Again, I'm sorry you have such hostility toward the AKC and in particular the Mid-West Association. I wish you well in ARHA and hope you win every hunt. All I have done Frank is shown you the facts time after time after time. As far as being mad, I'm no mad at all. You just assume I am mad and assume my dogs are slow both are not true

Also you obviously have no clue the type of hound I like but I assure you probably not what you think. As a judge my motto "let'em hit" and people who know me will agree. However, they must hit within reason just my opinion! You have a wonderful Christmas my friend and God bless your family!
