They are truly amazing I agree, have you ever thought what kind of dog you would be? I'm quick to judge them but I think I would be culled. GO thru a briar patch not me, Id wait on the other side, stick hard on a loose nope lay down wait for others to find,run all night probably not with out a few breaks under the truck maybe,hunt hard for a rabbit don't see it I would probably be the one with my nose up the gyps hind end. I'm sure I wouldn't make thru one hunt with bucks better beagles. Sure am glad I get to hunt those amazing dogs instead of being one.

Here is another one that I think we all take for granted. It amazes me that they can run a rabbit full tilt through a woods and never run into any trees!!!! Really, think about it, they are using their nose, eyes, body, etc. Jumping over logs, dodging trees, limbs, etc. Amazing athletes.

This one really amazes me when they are running at night!! Sometimes I can't believe they don't end up with a broken neck.

Augerhead: Well said, but in my world and with all due respect, you would never have lasted long enough to have those faults. You would have been culled along with your dew claws because of the size of your head.

It amazes me that a non-registered back yard beagle that I paid $40 for circled the first rabbit that I put her on. She was small, had a big bawl mouth, loved to hunt and gave me several years of rabbit hunting memories. I wish I had a kennel full of them just like her, but my young pups are busting brush, running rabbits, learning from their mistakes and giving me everything they've got which amazes me because this is their first gun season.

The hounds are truley amazing for all their abilities, their desire and effort they put forth to achieve their goal.

But what I have become most amazed about over the past two years, is the brotherhood we all share because of
our love for the little fellas. I have been to the World Hunt, Little World, Silver Creek, various state hunts,
even drove up to peoples driveways that I have only previously PM'd .... I have yet to meet a stranger.

Their ability to pull a mass of people together as they do.... astonishing!!!

And to add... it is pretty amazing that my hounds know what day of the week it is... Monday thru Friday I get up at
5:00... eat me some breakfast... off to work at 6:00.... hounds stay quiet and sleeping.

But come Saturday and Sunday morning... up at 5:00 and thay are howling and jumping knowing that we are fixing
to go chase some bunnies...

Mine can tell time. How else can you explain how they act at 5 PM every night? Thats feeding time. They will start acting crazy if I haven't moved by 5:05.
