equipment repairs

Post by steve688 »

Is there a good website or websites to find materials for making custom collars and leashes? I'm looking for two part rivets, bulk coated nylon, and other hardware. I was also wondering if anyone has used chicago screws instead of rivets to repair collars and what kind of luck they had with them? Thanks for the help.

I use the soft steel machine screws called "gray" that can be easily cut with a pair of pliers. Grind down the ends and for a few pennies, they will hold forever. 1/8 inch think and 1/4 inch long.

Chicago screws will come off unless you use locktight. You should be able to find harness rivets at most hardware stores.
