Opening Day

Man I hope all the other Tn. hunters had a better day than I did. only managed 1 decent race.Talked to a few more hunters and they weren`t doing any better.

Opening day was awful here in middle tenn also treedog. Had one race, but lost it quick. Too darn hot!!!! Dale

We had a good day opening day in East TN (Maryville, TN). We had ten races and was able to shoot 6 of them. My female had one good site race. It jumped up right in front of her nose and she was about 3-4 feet behind it going across the field.

I didn't see many hunters out on opening day. It was hot and dry. I checked out a couple of WMAs on opening day, one had two trucks parked, another just one with a license tag, Pennsylvania. No one was at the other one except me. Seems like the rabbits were going almost straight to a hole. (excuse number three). I talked to another rabbit hunter from Sneedville, TN today and he has had the same problem, although, he, his hunting buddy, and their two boys killed thirteen one day.

opening day for N.C is this Saturday and I'm excited to see what it brings,I have several new dogs that I have worked with all summer that I know will find a rabbit and will run one down if they get a half chance,New dogs+ new gun= excited!!!!
