Friday we headed out to a spot that is very large, mostly big flat looking fields. Conditions for the day were cold and very very windy. The wind woundn't stop blowing. On this day we jumped anywhere from 15-17 rabbits. We were able to gun down 10 rabbits and the dogs ran down and caught him in a brushpile. My thunder and one of elliots dogs tore that rabbit up pretty good by the time we got there. You can see footage of that in the video link. We ran dogs for 11hrs on this hunt

lots of great footage was taken on this hunt.
We had fun killing a few birds. Tysen was able to bag a few woodcock birds

Elliot put some rabbit ears on it....lol

I was able to knock down this quail

Here are some tired dogs after 11hrs on the ground. They made beds for themselves near the truck while we were putting our stuff up.

Here we are after the days hunt

Saturday things started off great. We had a few great runs in the morning. We hunted an area with alot of tree tops stacked up on top of eachother. As we hunted we ran into area's that were burned which made things very difficult. As the rabbits would run across the burned up areas they'd get the bottom's of their feet covered in black ash hiding its scent. As the dogs ran thru they created black ash dust all over. The races were pretty much done once the rabbit ran into those areas. We put 7-8 rabbits on the move, knocked out 4 rabbits on this hunt.

Sunday we hit an area that has not been hunting by me yet this season. We had to cut this hunt short because elliot had to make the 10+ hour drive home. For a short hunt we did alot of rabbits. Many of which got away for one reason or another. I think having 19 dogs on the ground was more than we could handle....lol I didn't think we expected things to get out of hand the way it did. We had to regroup dogs twice. It was surely an experience I won't so forget. I have a very nice clip of all the dogs pounding a rabbit I don't know how they didn't catch the thing. Wish I could of gotten more video footage but I was so caught up in the moment with all the crazyness going on I didn't get the chance to. Hope you enjoy what video I did get on film.

Few rabbits come out of this thick area

The crew after a short hunt.

I had to get a pic of ol thunder. He was plum wore out after 24hrs on the ground in 3 days. He also got a good cut on his shoulder from a barb wire fence we believe. He was a trooper though. He'll be alright.
