Ohio Beaglers!

Post by Beagle Huntsman »

Just remember when you go to vote tomorrow that it was Ted Strickland who cut a deal this summer with the Humane Society of the United States (the largest anti-hunting group in America). We don't need a leader who might work more deals with them in future. Our hunting and hound breeding might be at stake here. Thanks

He has talked out of both ends for the last 4 yrs. If the Humane Society get any more controll not only are the hunters and breeders in trouble, so are the farmers.

Strickland voted into Law our right to carry concealed weapons in Ohio. He also voted into Law the Castle Doctrine which allows Ohioians to protect themselves in their own homes without having to retreat. He recieved an A+ by the NRA.

Kasich voted with President Clinton on his weapons ban. He then recieved an F from the NRA. He is still trying to recover from that. Kasich is much like former Govenor Taft if you think he is a friend of gun owners and sportsman you are sadly mistaken. What do you plan to hunt those rabbits with fellas.....rocks???? Kasich is the wrose of the RINOS and I could give you more info....... The reality is Strickland is a sportsman, hunter and protector of gun rights. Kasich is the enemy of gun owners.

I am very conservative, but I know that Kasich is our enemy. I have followed him for years. I believe he is going to be elected , and he will not be our friend. The only Dem I voted for this year was Strickland because Kasich is that bad.

I know 1 thing. If we dont get someone in here that can make this state buisness and industry friendly there's gonna be alot of fellas having to sell guns and dogs just to feed their family.

I'll take my chance with a not so friendly progun conservative who can help turn our economy around vrs. a liberal who likes guns, but endorses the humane society and chases new job creating business away.

A governer alone can't get gun laws changed. The Supreme Court just ruled to over turn Chicagos gun ban. Stating that No local or State level government can over rule the Constitution. (That being said. The feds think they have the right to, but we'll explain to them that's not true when the time comes.)

As far as who the NRA endorses? Well there's alot of folks losing faith in them. They are losing members everyday with their own little agendas that have little to do with protecting the normal everyday gun owner/ hunter.

I'm more apt to vote for someone the humane society hates verses someone the NRA likes. jmo.

Bob dont see where you can use the word ""progun" when talking about Kasich. He is anti gun and as you will see anti-hunting. I will give you a few facts...... at the very least he is anti sportsman.

12 Good Reasons why I will NOT Vote For Kasich.

If Congressman Kasich had voted against the Clinton/Schumer Gun Ban, it would not have had enough votes to pass the House. "The measure, passed 216-214, represents a dramatic victory for the White House and gun control proponents and a defeat for the National Rifle Association, which had lobbied against the bill." [C...olumbus Dispatch, 5/6/94] In 1994, Congressman Schumer‟s Gun Ban bill was rolled into Clinton‟s Crime Bill. Instead of supporting gun rights and the 2nd Amendment, Congressman Kasich voted three times in favor of Clinton‟s Omnibus Crime Bill that banned numerous firearms, including the AR-15 and M1A that are used in the National Trophy Matches at Camp Perry, Ohio.

‎[H Res 526, House Vote 414, 8/21/1994; HR 3355, House Vote 415, 8/21/1994; HR 3355, House Vote 416, 8/21/1994] According to a letter to the Columbus Dispatch on October 11, 1994, "Kasich said on WTVN (610AM) that an overwhelming number of calls to his office were against a ban on assault weapons, but he ignored them be...cause he knew that the „gun lobby‟ pays people to call." On the CNN show Inside Politics Extra on May 17, 1996, he said "it was just a common sense deal.

ASSAULTS #1, 2, 3, 4 – Voted For Clinton/Schumer Gun Ban Four Times and Given "F" by the NRA
In 1994, Congressman Kasich voted for Congressman Chuck Schumer‟s Gun Ban bill, which became the Clinton Gun Ban. [HR 4296, House Vote 156, 5/5/1994] As Congressman Kasich‟s spokesman said on May 6, 1994, according to the Cleveland Plain Dealer, "[Kasich's] convinced that banning these guns will not infringe the rights of legitimate hunters and sportsmen in Ohio."
Congressman Kasich was Key Vote in Passing the Clinton/Schumer Gun Ban
" ASSAULT #5 – Voted Against Repealing the Clinton Gun Ban In 1996, Congressman Kasich had the audacity to vote against the repeal of the Clinton Gun Ban. In voting against the repeal, Congressman Kasich also voted against requiring mandatory minimum sentences for criminals committing violent crimes with certain firearms and enhanced prosecution of violent criminals. Despite Congressman Kasich‟s opposition, the bill passed 239-173. [HR 125, House Vote 92, 3/22/1996]
ASSAULT #6 – Voted for a Ban on Deer Hunting In 1992, Congressman Kasich voted against the amendment by Congressman and NRA Board Member Bill Brewster to allow deer hunting to continue at the Mason Neck National Wildlife Refuge. Congressman Brewster called the issue "the hunter and sportsmen vote of the year." Despite ...Congressman Kasich‟s opposition, the amendment passed 255-160. [HR 5503, House Vote 299, 7/22/1992; AP, 5/23/92]
ASSAULTS #7 & 8 – Voted to Restrict Gun Shows In 1999, Congressman Kasich voted TWICE to increase background checks aimed at closing down gun shows. [HR 1501, House Vote 447, 9/24/1999; HR 1501, House Vote 438, 9/23/1999]
ASSAULT #9 – Voted Against Big Game Hunting In 1997, Congressman Kasich voted for Congressman John Fox‟s amendment to prohibit any development assistance funds from being used to support or promote big game hunting. Despite Congressman Kasich‟s support, the amendment was rejected 159-267. [HR 2159, House Vote 359, 9/4/1997]
ASSAULT #10 – Voted Against Stopping the Harassment of Law-Abiding Gun Owners by the BATFE In 1995, Congressman Kasich voted against an amendment by Congressman and NRA Board Member Harold Volkmer to prohibit the use of evidence obtained by the ATF (now the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms & Explosives) unless it w...as obtained under a search warrant. Despite Congressman Kasich‟s opposition, the amendment was adopted 228-198. [HR 666, House Vote 101, 2/8/1995] ASSAULT #11 – Voted for D.C. Gun Ban In 1999, Congressman Kasich voted against Congressman Virgil Goode‟s amendment to repeal the law which prohibits District of Columbia residents from possessing a firearm. [HR 2122, House Vote 240, 6/18/1999]
ASSAULT #12 – Voted for Handgun Restrictions In 1986, Kasich voted for anti-gun Congressman Bill Hughes‟ amendment restricting the rights of handgun owners. [HR 4332, 4/1986] The Associated Press wrote about Congressman Kasich’s support of gun control, "Kasich said he voted for a ban on assault weapons and was prepared... to examine other restrictions... Kasich said he was willing to consider additional background check requirements for gun purchasers." [AP, 5/21/99] Congressman Kasich "Favors extremely restrictive legislation and/or actively leads anti-gun efforts." NRA, 1994

And I called you Bob, LOL Anyway he will be swept in with the Republican tide (which I am excited about) but Kasich is not a good guy for sportsman or the little guy. Could get into his background more, but beaglers are get up and goers and most have voted already..... the die is cast.

Duke, I believe Kasich is now a friend of the gun owners. His recent TV ads have proclaimed him to be very positive toward the NRA. I look forward to having him as our leader. We need a BIG change in Ohio. Strickland never had a plan and just made a total mess of the state. The HSUS deal was the last straw for me. Sure hope he loses tonight!

Your voting for him because "you believe" he is NOW a friend of gun owners  Thats funny s#@t right there. You vote for a man based on his recored and what he has done...not what you believe he will do! I dont care if you are republican or democrat, just make sure you have looked at the persons record.

I never said Kasich was perfect, but he certainly was better than the alternative. Glad we got him in.

ANYONE who makes deals with America's most powerful anti-hunting organization can not be tolerated.

Kasich is now our Govenor and I think he should be given a chance. With that said I hope we all make a commitment to really learn what are politicians have done in the past and want to do in the future. To give Strickland his just due on the Humane Society deal, he did so to stop a Statewide Legislative Initiative and vote that would have been disasterous for both farmers and sportsman. And it had a good chance of passing as there are some stupid people in the world who are cruel. The dairy farmer near lebanon is as resposible as anyone for the situation being created. On video repeadedly punching a calf, over and over. (made me wince)

So I ask all of you who voted for Kasich to keep a close eye on him. It came out yesterday in an Interview reported by The News Herald in Outdoors with Frischkorn, that Kasich already has plans of placing the Department of Natural Resources under the Ohio Enviromental Protection Agency....... YEP!!!!!! And if you dont think this will have a negative impact on us, you know nothing of the EPA. It makes the Humane Society deal look pale in comparison. Call his office and let him know when he goes down these paths that it is unacceptable and will have ramifications.

I know a lot of us are mad about how things are going. This isnt about Dems or Reps anymore. There are turds in each. We have to do our homework and throw out the turds. And replace them with BETTER options. Voting in anger, on intuition, guessing, by party, emotion or taking a chance are not acceptable. Know the cadidates know the facts on each. It was a wanna feel good emotion that gave us Obama. He was not prepared. Studying his record would have made that clear to the voters.

You Buckeyes wanted him, well you got him. Kasich day one--- "I will create jobs in Ohio", fifthteen minutes later he cancelled the high speed rail system project, 7,000 jobs down the tube, off to a flying start.
Kasich fully intends to or attempt to, make Ohio a Right to Work State. Regardless of your personal views of organized labor , the reality is, everyones wages are based on union scale wages , a living wage that the labor unions fought for. Kasich wants to stop that . He wants to cut YOUR wages , YOU blue collar beagle guy , make to much money.
Make note of this reply, or even print it out. I predict Kasich will not survive his first term in office, he will be indicted for some past or future underhanded deal. This guy can not be trusted.
