the best motel in my opinion is the deer creek. ive had great stays there and clean and very cheap . its across from the super 8 . but its kinda hidden. 1-740-432-6391 . super 8 is about 80.00 and deer creek is 55.00 plus tax ive stayed at both and will always stay at deer creek. hope this helps oh did i mention there is a steak buffet next door.lmao

UKC World Verses NKC World

The UKC World hunt is going on right now. UKC has got there crap together when it comes to keeping results and updates online. NKC has got to step up to the plate.

the above post recieved many responses, and here is a prime example of what sanfordssj was referring.
Some trialers ask for directions to this hunt, what was given was, Cumberland, Zeno, Chandlersville , Is this Hunt by invitation only , is LP some secret society? Where is the hunt? Some readers , I believe interperted sanfordssj's post to infer that ARHA hunts weren't well run, i don't believe that was the intent. What I interperted sanfordss as saying, was ARHA does a poor job of communication. Nowhere on the ARHA web site will you find any referrence to the Little World Hunt , or any other hunt, other then the date it is held, Certainly no directions, and results are posted two or three months later. The ARHA guys/gals do indeed put on excellent hunts , however I must agree with sanfordssj, when it comes to communication, and marketing the UKC is head and shoulders above ARHA/NKC.

Amen Big Mike! I am only trying to get there to pick up a dog, but I would like to try an LP event sometime. But like you said, you would think you would be able to find SOMETHING on the Little World on the ARHA website. I have only ran in a few trials and they were UKC. I don't like all of the slick handling and the rest of the stigma that goes along with that format but as far as organization and communication, there is NO comparisson. I would like to try an LP hunt someday, but from the looks of it I will never know when and where there will be a hunt or how to get there if there is a hunt. If you're going to compete you have to be as good or better than the next guy. Same thing with registeries. Step it up a notch AHRA! (I have never had any dealings with AHRA. Only my own limited research.)

IMO LP has great people in the organization. But horrible people running it. Might be a little strong but When You see these other organizations do what they do. You got to look at the top of the LP organization for the problem.

When you can watch round 1 through the finals on the Internet as it happens you have to admit that UKC is head and shoulders above ARHA (NKC). Dont get me wrong i love LP and run both, but I just think its time for little brother to step up to the world of the web! I know arha.com has room to improve but if you go to "upcoming hunts" there is contact people with their phone numbers so you can get directions.

If you are referring to my suggestions to improve this registery, let me explain. First off, no one on here is stupid. We come to this board to learn, fellowship, and ultimately better the breed. 2ndly, I personally am not "from" any registery. As I mentioned before I have only been to a couple of sanctioned hunts and they just happen to be UKC because that is all that I have in my home town and I can't afford to travel. Just went for fun to see how my "mutts" measure up to others. I have been reading a little bit about different registeries trying to find something to hopefully get my 5 year old little girl interested in. Also like I said before, you have to be a good handler to win in UKC. I know they now have PP which I am also looking into. But it is comments like this that make me not want to associate with ANY registery because I don't want my daughter to be around ignorance. I know it is everywhere in the world, but why try to take her somewhere where she might be able to win a prize with her dog and make her day when you have to deal with stuff like this? So again not sure if you were referring to me or not, but the only person hurting "your" registery is yourself. I will stick to pleasure hunting for now. Good luck to everyone at the world! I did not mean to defend anyone but you do not understand how much time goes into putting on a hunt. alot people go but very few people want to work but they will complain as soon as something does not go the way they think it should go. this was all about directions a address where someone can get to a hunt. i gave my phone number on the comuter its in the rabbit hunter and yes someone posted it on line. then you do not think i have a right to get upset when someone wants to compare arha to ukc. guess what i do not disagree about how well ukc post there results but do not bash arha unless you are going to step up and help fix it. because now you become the person that wants everyone else to do the work while you come up with the ideas and thats not what i am about. and for you to bring your daughter into the conversation i would hope you would understand any time you have a winner or a loser you are going to have difference and i am sure you are no angel yourself. so please do not judge me and use your little girl as a way to put yourself on a hill that i have already climb. raise to very sucessful girls that were not sheltered from the real world were just taught the correct way to deal with it.

Why should the handler have so much to do with who wins. Last I checked the best dog is supposed to win. This is why I stopped running in ukc along with to many rules and the judge also runs his dog in the cast. Web updates yeah ill give that to ukc but the dogs are of no comparison.

I'm staying at the Deer Creek and they let you have a dog in the room for an extra few bucks, last year we stayed at Super 8 and they also allowed a dog in the room but they were more expensive.
