Re: any results for sundays coal mine classic
Hmmm. I hear a little dog by the name of Man got third in the little males. Way to go Man just a very young dog doing his thing so shake them haters off and continue to show them what the Man can do... Oh yea congrats to Crawfish too. Not a bad looking little dude either if his owner would just quit getting scared and show him...

Don't know Neil or Kane, but a BIG CONGRATS! I heard two comments about winner of big male class, "little big male that can get it done"(I was told Kane maybe around 13 1/4 or 13 1/2 inches). Must have heart to run against big males at that size. Aslo heard "he is a rabbit dog" enough said!

I am beginning to wonder how clubs akc ukc arha find this forum too draw crowds for revenue but after the smoke clears it leaves everyone hanging on results.

Re: any results for sundays coal mine classic
I will come to the defense of some of the clubs who do not post results right away....here is why...and they may not have anything to do with Central IN but should give some insight.
1. The amount of AKC paperwork to be sent in is rediculous and redundant....this all has to be TO them within 7 days or you are fined per day ($25 I think). Now I have been to clubs where the FTS will fill out ALL of the paperwork before the results are called...this tends to tick off the gallery but on the other hand if there is any paperwork/signature issues it gets taken care of right away and it saves the FTS from blowing the next week working on FT paperwork. Likewise, I have spent hours on a Monday/Tuesday/Wednesday trying to comprehend writing...looking on the AKC website for sire/darn, reg #'s, ....addresses....etc...it is a pain in the rear!!! Again, this can take hours...not minutes. I honestly do not know how FTS's do it that are not on the computer all the time. Just getting the info you need from the AKC website is a maze in itself....and impossible to do without an AKC internet account.
2. All AKC clubs have to send their results to Better Beagling as well....this is now in a typed out format (did this twice last trial and BB never received it) on their website or you can scan in the results to a pdf file but their format different than the AKC format because you have to include NBQ so the paperwork is not real compatable....again, redundant and a lot of busy work.
3. The Midwest also needs the results also and if you typed them into the BB website you still have to send the MW Seceratary the AKC paperwork and include the NBQ hound by doing some fancy copy work and write it in, scan it to email, then email it....otherwise, you can type them out again and include all of the same information and snail mail them.
3. Then you have the two days of phone calls from guys worried about the results, pats on the back, disgruntled about the judging, food, clubhouse, amount of game....meanwhile, you just want the pile of paperwork to go away.
4. Now somewhere in this timeframe you have to make sure if you have any prizes that need ordered (jackets, pictures, etc) gets ordered...got to remember or write down the addresses of those folks to get them mailed out.
5. Paying clubmembers want a newsletter mailed out the day after the trial so those who did not attend can see the results before anyone else.
6. Somewhere in this mess of paperwork redundancy the viewers of the AB board want the results posted as well....also with pictures and I heard a request for sire and dam not too long ago.
7. Somewhere in these days after the trial you have to appease the wife, kids, etc becaue you have not been attentive as they would like you to be.
8. Forget about getting you dogs ready for the next weeks trial because it just isn't going to happen.
Now; I am fairly computer savy, have eliminated some of the hand work, and have a job that allows me to park it at my desk for a couple of days and finish the paperwork, post online, etc.....If I had a factory job or one that I could not devote "beagle time" to there is no way I would be worried about getting any more done than absolutely necessary. I try to get the NCOBC stuff posted asap just because I too like seeing the results, but I also understand not all FTS's have the extra time to get this done...some are not even on the computer and could care less.
Just my .02....

Re: any results for sundays coal mine classic
Heck, had to give ya some...you went missing....knew it would pull ya out of the briars
Ahhh....not saying it is the case for every club but I must say by Tuesday/Wednesday after the trial is gets pretty ridiculous, I get sick of seeing the placing hounds names and could probably recite their AKC number to ya.
I talked to the AKC rep about this at our trial and was told that "that is the way it is".....seems to me with the name and reg# they could pull all the info themselves and save the FTS a bunch of work, also seems to me that the AKC would pay the FTS a minimal amount since they are getting paid for me to do the paperwork
....but that is another gripe for another time. I know I tried to shorten some steps when I first took over and was told not to do that anymore
. To be honest I am not sure how guys like the late Harry Wilson (RIP) did it without a computer or much help....I have a bunch of respect for how those guys did it and everytime I think about quiting I think of Harry and guys like him that did not have the luxuries I have of scanning, emailing, surfing the AKC site, and a very relaxed work enviroment that allows the time....etc. It makes me feel like I am bitchin about nothing.
Believe me, I love seeing the results....especially when my name is on them
....but some of these guys need to realize that it is more important to finish the AKC paperwork, the Better Beagling paperwork, and the Midwest paperwork....the hounds are running for points, not for the guys on the internet to see their names in lights.
If ya had a touch more judging experience....I would use ya
