Missouri Rabbit hunt...hosted board member mybeagles

Post by Joeyman »

Its feels great to be back hunting rabbits again. I tell you what spring & summer flew by so fast this year, next thing I knew it was already rabbit season. We've been working hard on our pack for this upcoming season. We have added two young dogs this season and a few pups. Looking forward to many more hunts over these young upcoming gun-dogs and turning them into seasoned vet's.

On today's opening weekend hunt we had board member mybeagles drive all the way from Kentucky to join us. Joining him were his two sons and also his Year and a half old female beagle named Gumi.

We had lots of fun on this hunt. Ran over 10+ rabbits I lost count. Many times their were split runs or strays running out from no where. Shoot one rabbit and the dogs keep on going. We had solid running from the time we started till we stopped 8hrs later. Its still pretty thick out and most the times we sat on the side lines listening to a pack of 7 pound the snot out of the rabbit. The best runs were in the woods. They straight up hauled.

I really enjoyed this hunt. Dave thanks for coming all the way out to Missouri to hunt with us. It was my pleasure to host you and your sons on today's hunt. You are welcome back anytime.

I would also like to say Thank you sir for serving this great country we live in. Your beagler buddy - Joey

Hey Joeyman,
thank you for posting them videos. I am sure glad that Rabbit season is back in MO. I am a gun hunter and I sure like to see hunts more than running. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy watching running also, I just cant wait to start hunting them with the gun.

again thanks for posting.

we are planning a hunt in MO next weekend. I am about 45 min from Mo, and only hour from a public ( I think MO. calls them CA's) grounds. I can't wait to actually run-n-gun a month early. my season does not start till November 13, and that is the first week of deer season. just cant chance the dogs during that first two weeks.
again thanks for posting.

Joey,

Im just getting back to the board after the weekend. I would like to extend my sincere appreciation for having the 3 of us along for the hunt. The boys and I had a great time running those Missouri cottontails. You have a great line up with some good up and coming hounds, I could tell you have been training during the off season!

Although it brought back some great memories, and created some new ones for the boys, I realized this weekend that Im not 20 years old anymore. Closing in on 40, you start to feel those all day hunts all over the body. Had to take a Sunday afternoon nap, before getting back to running Sunday and Monday evenings.

Thanks again,
Mybeagles

Nice hunt there. Man I have not run my hounds lately. Keep the videos going because when I can't find the time to run mines, I come online for videos. You have some nice running/hunting grounds.
