little pack throws away 70,000 acres
Can anybody tell me why, the (e board) would not give south eastern Ohio Beagle club a big 5 for 2011. They have great running, close spots,a good club house, and plenty of judges willing to help out. Not to mention 70,000 acres of land. The last time the little world was in Indiana, it took them until Monday afternoon,to get it done. jmo

I will start the motor mike since no one else will. We use to vote for big five hunts by sending out ballots to all clubs a meeting would be held and the membership would decide who the felt would do the best job the best running and so on. ballots would be sent in and the clubs with the most votes would be awarded the hunt. Now we run our organization like the government runs are country and thats not the demorcate way its more like socializasm. BUT hay WHAT DO i know. I KNOW WE USE to elect the people that run the organization ever three years and know there appointed positions. WHY IS THAT? I TELL YOU WHY this way the people that think they know everything never have to worry about loosing power. Without change you cannot improve and when you think you know everything their is to know you cannot learn and thats why the little world is back in Indiana because thats all they know not to mention I believe that Indiana is closer to Illinois then ohio. But lets not forget without the ohio, pa and kentucky judges you probley do not put on a world hunt do ya. Iwill just suck it up and do my best to put on the best state hunt that the organizatoin has ever seen.I promise you that. I challenge other clubs that put on a big five hunt to remember who is the most important piece to our puzzle is one word judges and the judge that judges the most rounds at the ohio state hunt in 2011 will get a brand new senca dogtrailer worth 3600.00 smacks.......... if there a tie we wqill draw the winning name out of a hat.

I agree. It is bad enough the world hunt is held at the same location every year. To hold multiple big hunts at the same location is just wrong. The
purpose of having multiple big hunts is to show the quality of dogs in diverse hunting conditions, throughout the country, while giving other clubs the oppurtunity to have a hunt now and then. I talked to several people at the WORLD HUNT, that were tired of the same old hunt every year. Now we get to have the same experience multiple times!!! I hope the decision to have multiple big hunts at the same location is a result of trying to benefit ARHA and not a few individuals.---

i am truly upset that there will be no big 5 in cumberland next year. the running grounds are fantastic, plenty of judges, and a very large clubhouse. i am being truly honest when i say that S.E.O.B.C. puts on the best hunts and is my fav. place to go. by the way frank i'm pretty sure indiana is closer to illinois. lmao

This will be our (CydneeDesigns) first year to attend the Little World and was looking forward to an annual trip to Ohio.
Now it seem as as though IF we were to decide to attend both we would go to the same place, meet the same people, and watch the same hounds run the same grounds.... sounds kinda boring.
Was looking forward to the variety and change of scenary.

Re: little pack throws away 70,000 acres
I enjoy running at Cumberland and in Indiana. I do remember casting to that stupid Quail preserve 6 times in 3 days, and it was awful everytime. I hope to go to some of the good spots the next time the little World is in Indiana. With all the great places to run near that area that place should have been scratched off the list.I have had some great running in both places, and enjoy both clubs. I guess the reasoning for 3 rivers holding the Lw is that they are more central than for everyone than Ohio. I hope Cumberland can get a big 5 again in 2012, because it is close for me, and has as good running as anywhere.

Re: little pack throws away 70,000 acres
The last rumor I heard Booneville's property was slowly diminishing so S.E.O.B.C. was being given a national every year to condition them in the event the world hunt needed to be held in Ohio. Apparently that wasn't true. It's a shame though (selfishly) because it's close and I've always had great running in every cast every time I've been there.
