Extending unemployeement benifits???

My first thought is that both the Republicans and the Democrats are responsible for the current fiscal destruction of this country. Both are guilty of spending without any regard for tomorro. Well the chickens are soon to come home to roost. It just happens that this Administration has gone into Hyper-Spending. While Bush spent 1 + trillion this Administration has quadrupled that. The spending and giveaways along with rewarding mediocrity and sloth are destroying the American Spirit. We need to take our country back.

The problem we have is that once someone firmly attaches their lips to the governments nipple it is hard to wean them off of it. And once a couple of generations have been firmly attached it becomes a lifestyle. And those attached to the nipple will make any excuse as to why they are attached to the governments free milk...... I cant find work, there is no work in my field, I wont make enough, work is too far away, I make more on welfare/unemployment, I paid taxes once......... and the list goes on!!!!!!! 2 years on unemployment again guys is RIDICULOUS.......it is welfare not a hand up!!!!!!!! It steals your pride and soul.

A Mother Wolf like all canines eventually must drive her pups off the nipple so that they will get hungry and learn to eat other foods and also learn to hunt and provide for themselves and the pack. If the Mother does not drive the pups off her milk not only will she suffer, but her pups will never learn to survive on their own in the wild. And imagine if those pups become adults, still suckling from the Mother then they have their own pups who also attach themselves permantly to the nipple. Soon the life of the Mother Wolf is literally sucked from her, and with it the pups and grandpups fail, and so does the existance of the pack.

It is neither cruel or mean of the Mother Wolf to drive her pups from the nipple (the free milk) it is nature. It is what gives the pups the DRIVE to learn and make it in the wild. It is not cruel, but a gift she gives to her pups to give them that nudge so that they can go off on their own survive in the world, and to then contribute to the pack. It is in fact the right thing for the mother to do, the natural thing.

We need to stop facilitating sloth in this country and once again instill pride and responsibility into our children. We like the Mother Wolf must show our children love and push them off the nipple.

What we have to understand is, we grew into an inflated economy that expanded until it could no longer support itself do to free lending and borrowed money. This was all good while it lasted, banks lent, people borrowed, bought things, creating demand and causing inflation. Companies prospered.
Now, we're back to the reality of what demand is and what we can actually afford but the shedding of inflated demand has left 8 million jobless. These people are not your welfare generation, these are people that were employed and cut to redefine and balance what the actual economy will support. Asset wealth has been clobbered, people now find they have no equity but the bill is still due and they have no job.
There are always those who will wait and see, sit on their haunches, or think they deserve a break... but...there are many many more that have been cast into a sea of hopelessness when things were on track just yesterday.

The wolf pups were weaned in the spring and had all the good weather and food to grow and learn their skill from their mother.

The deer also birthed their fawns and many twins were their name. They romped the meadows picking the tender grass and waxed fat to fill their loin, but now,...the hard winter has struck suddenly and early and forced the herd to the winter yards where only the forest protects the grass from the deep and blowing snow.

Some of you make me feel bad for collecting unemployment as a way to keep an income while coming out of the military to be at home with my kids. My welcome home from my last deployment was hey lets gear up for afghanistan next year! I've got 2 kids the oldest is a 2 year old. I was deployed his entire first year of his life, and missed the pregnancy of my 2nd. It was time for me to get out of the military! Unemployment gave me a safety net to fall on still things got straightened out. The plan was 2 years unemployment as long as i was a full-time student well somehow i fell in the leupold, and missed the deadline for the first extension by one week. I just finaly got it with this new extension. I'm still on it. I am definitley looking for a job that will pay more than what i make on unemployment b.c i do have a family to provide for. So far nothing, but there are things out there but there is alot of competition. I'm sick of depending on the government to hand me money for nothing, at the same time i want to finish school, so i can provide my kids with the things i never had. Everyone is talking politics, i can't stand politics. Politicians remind me of a bunch of fat rich guys sitting at a table stuffing there face talking about the people they make money off of. I know that statement does'nt seem very educated,but there is quite a bit of truth behind. Alot of the politicians today are the not the patriots that our founders intended for them to be in the beginning! America became a consumer driven country, and it allowed for the lobbying, and crooked politics based on the dollar and the popularity one can gain! There are politicians, and many companies and corporations that have gotten extremely rich from making americans alot poorer, and even by our country sending our soldiers to war!!!!! and lots of politicians are associated with these companies, and corporations! Back door motives, and money, along with campaigning that is more like advertising, and marketing to uneducated voters has torn us upside down!! that is just my humble opinion!!

There are plenty of companies that have benefited from the wars we are involved in and there are politicians that we stupid americans have voted into office that have had there hands in that piggy bank the whole time!(K.B.R Kellog Brown & Root & Halliburton) I believe this was forewarned against as the "industrial military" complex. This post has nothing to do with the unemployment extension, but i just want to drive home my point of politics in the present situation. People are being put in office with marketing, and lobbying. Basicaly Idiots need to wake up, and start voting for patriots not who is gonna make appearnances on the view with oprah winfrey. Or someone who is gonna have advisors with there hands in the cookie jars of industry & other non political sources of income. Congress should vote in another raise for themselves they've earned it! Ohlander, good post. It was the great general Eisenhower who warned against the Industrial Military Complex. When I came home from Vietnam, we had the GI Bill, without which, I would never have been able to finish college. The sad truth is that wars pay to those who don't have to fight and die. Wars are also initiated and conducted by those who have never had to face a bullet. I think the last president to have served was John Kennedy. Dick Cheney got 5 deferments during the Vietnam war and was the head of Haliburten.

Now, please don't everyone jump on me for mentioning that name. I mention it only because during the Vietnam war, the guys who served considered deferments as draft dodging. There was a song which went something to this affect, "the worst of men cry "fight" while the best of men must die"

Well i took off work at 230 today to see my doctor over a injury i substained in feb of this year,We went over all my options one of which was disability, why not he said you will never get any better jimmie think about it, i did and said na guess i will just work. Sounded pretty tempting though. After that went to my daughters open house for kindergarten. Most of the boring speech by this one and that one was spent telling us parents about goverment assistance, such as free meals ,schools supplies and anything else we can get. the princapals words and i quote"Free Money the goverment gives away get it while its there" Unquote. Before i left work today a fella came in and wanted a free quote on some work he said and i quote-"Make it high as ya wanna i get a voucher from welfare they pay for it" unquote.... Amazingly enuff my first cust of the day come in a strutting and ask about a tranny repair,i gave him a price and he said i am on disability and that seems kinda high. Oh really whats the matter with ya i ask ? I am a alcholic. Hmmm me too i told him. Then i ask do they pay for them marlboros ur a puffing? Sure do he said. Wtf Is wrong with this country? I 100% agree with Duke on this stuff 4 different people and all want free money rides. Well bout 630 we started baling hay put up 450 bales of alafa, 3 guys and blew a pto seal on a 4020 john Deere, so problems yes but we will fix it and roll on.Cant find help what cha gonna do? Once again if u can justify screwing ur fella man that pays his way then so be it, as for me guess i will keep on working and struggling thru lifes everydays problems. I also believe several that dont post on here fill the same way.This country has become pretty soft, just saying.

If it's about the tax dollars where else do you believe they should go ? The way i see it is if you don't want to get screwed then you better quit paying taxes, it is'nt just job and family services. What about the federal financial aid they give out to college students ? are you against that as well ? Just looking for a little more detail to why you feel this way...

I have No problem with disability or unemployment or social security if the reciepients truely deserve it but it has to be paid for and I think what Maple Valley is saying is there is no such thing as free money, correct me if MVK if I am off the mark. I remember as a boy seeing road side stands out in the country set up on the honor system, man those are rare now because honor is rare now. Society in general is moving away fron accountability to dependability. JMO!

If it's about the tax dollars where else do you believe they should go ? The way i see it is if you don't want to get screwed then you better quit paying taxes, it is'nt just job and family services. What about the federal financial aid they give out to college students ? are you against that as well ? Just looking for a little more detail to why you feel this way...

First thanks for serving our country...........I see screwing my fella man as not pulling ur weight, thats as plain as i can put it.I beleive if u have worked and paid in the system then social security is a right to earn, college loans are a good thing for those who truly want too better themselves in live.I also believe education is the key to sucess in the 21st century.I always have said if you a education is expensive try ignorance. If i was king for a day wwjd? Well first off i would probaly start off by praying and asking forgiveness for what i am about to do........ 3rd world countries that call us out, ashtrays and parking lots----Sell countries to Wal-Mart hell there the most sucessful co i know of why dont we elect them as leaders........Secure our future for kids and kill every predator in jail that has any child crime.That should save millions a year in feeding there sorry asses.As far as jails are concerned heck we got a few countries available now load em up and turn em loose, why should our tax dollars pay for em? Take Care of our countries farmers and treat em right fair price for there products would be a great start, since mcdonalds is choosing to outsource beef from other countries these days, bye bye ronald mcdonald. Mickie dees gone.Wefare check drawers unless u show me ur crippled or crazy, we got plenty of trash in americas roadways to pick up---then its over. Ohlinger I agree with you completely about politicians. They have become fat, power hungry and eager to use our money for thier gain. I too served in the Army 23 years Active and Reserve being deployed often with my last deployment to Afghanistan. I appreciate your service and wish you safe journey.

I however did not use that as a reason to act differently or to excuse the use of unemployment when I could work. We think differently and frankly I cant make you feel bad, only you make you feel bad. If we can work and instead use unemployment for whatever reason it is my opinion an abuse of the system. Once on the take it is hard to get off the take. We can find a million excuses why we do things that make us feel bad, inherently we know what is right or wrong. I know that I am not going to change the minds of those who look for excuses rather than looking in the mirror. In fact this will be my last say on this issue, as people make up their own minds as to which voice in their head they will listen.

As for our wolf mother, she has pups in feast and famine and in nature ALWAYS she weans them. Regardless off the harshness of the year, or its abundance. It is natural for the mother to teach the pup to fend for itself in the best of conditions and the worse. Just the same for the doe, that the wolf eats, the doe also chases her fawns from the nipple so that they may live.

The reality of life is simple there are no free lunches, as free lunches often come at the highest cost.
