THIS IS NOT A PISSING CONTEST, JUST WANT HONEST ANSWERS FROM POPLE THAT HAVE BEEN TO THE CLUBS AND TRIALS, NO 2ND HAND BS. THANKS FOR OYUR INPUT.
Re: WHERE IS YOUR FAVORITE CLUB AT?
I feel comfortable at any Little Pack club in Virginia and some in North Carolina ( I haven't been to all of them). Great bunch of people, always fun, plenty of game and I can honestly say i would send my hounds with another handler and KNOW they were judged fairly. Big statement there!

I really enjoy attending the Lake Superior BC in the Northern MI Hare assoc.. They always have plenty of game and pretty intense running. I run a little more conservative dog by choice, but I always have a great time and will make the trip if I can.
Within the Mid-west I have always enjoyed East Central Iowa BC. The running ground is miles of rolling hills with swails full of game. They judge on horseback and it seems like your dog gets a good looking at.

ARHA Little Pack & Big Pack at Oak Hill Beagle Club in Jackson,Ohio.
1. every time i've been there ,they have had plenty of rabbits
2.their location and good reputation brings beaglers from Ohio,Kentucky,W.Virginia and beyond. This makes for some stiff competition.
3.the cub gives back to the judges ,and i believe that helps keep high quality judging.(Judges get $20/cast. If there are two judges, they get $15 each. When someone judges 3 rounds, they get a $20 bonus.)
4.THE FOOD IS AWESOME!
5.these guys and gals work extra, extra hard to put on a good hunt.
If you get a chance go check them out.

Thanks, Ray! I am glad you have enjoyed the hunts at Jackson. We have just tried to continue the idea that originated with Hubert Davis George Hill, and Dennis Circle, many years ago.ray s wrote:ARHA Little Pack & Big Pack at Oak Hill Beagle Club in Jackson,Ohio.

This is my favorite club also, but for a different reason. I like the OHBC at Jackson because of the friendship.
I am amazed at every hunt by the friendship and kindness shown by everyone that comes to the hunts. So many people step up and help judge that it makes it easy, even when we get 70 - 80 dogs. The Cliftons cook such good food. The Tolands help any way they can, and guide cast after cast to good running. Rodney Smith checks in to be sure everything at the clubhouse is OK. The Meades and Queens come to every hunt and offer their help, however it is needed. Many people show up, and send their dog out with a handler, just to help out the club by judging. Guys like Steve Allen and Greg Jacobs show their loyalty to the club by helping any way they can. And at every hunt, Jeff Allen shows up first, leaves last, and does everything possible to be sure that the hunt goes well.
Just thinking about this makes me excited thinking about September 11-12, when we have our next two hunts. Come and join us and you will see what I mean.

Re: WHERE IS YOUR FAVORITE CLUB AT?
I was really impressed with Neelyville, Mo. They have a great group of young people that really care about the dogs and they have real good running grounds and a good bunch of judges. I think they represent what all clubs should try to be.

yeah and mandys momma sure can make some good gravy.emmmmmm
man i could live off that gravy.
i like there club too.
clinton has a nice club and also put on a real feast.
i can tell yall more about who has what food than anything.......LOL
i have only been to 5 clubs but to be honest they all treated us well and i felt welcome at all of them. our first trial at coon island chris and laura wells took us under there wings.
introduced us to everyone there and let us hang with them on the cast.
so that made me and they wife feel welcome.
but so far coon island is my pick. i know alot more people that go there . allot of out of state people come and its neat talking to them.
but i am hopeing to see our local clubs in tiff and desoto grow. maybe even get some Progressive Pack up this way would be really nice.
