whoo hooo, monday i start my new job it will not be the money i used to make but i am happier than a kid on christmas morning. i had 2 interviews in the last two days. yesterday was for a tree service company who has a contract for utility line cleaning up. and today was for a sercurity company. today i got a call back from the tree company offering me the job and i accepted happily. the security company also put me down for strike line gaurd and was going to send my name and resume over to another guy for a full time hospital security position. so anyways there is a security company that is looking for some guys in flint, mi. just make sure you can clean up nice and iron your dress slacks and button up shirt. i will tell you what, it sure does make me feel good knowing again that i am a part of the employed statistics.
mybeagles, i would also like to thank you for your service. i talked to a recruiter before i graduated high school. i was real serious about serving until he asked about any health issues and i told him of a heart condition i have. it is nothing bad and causes me no problems but it bummed me out when he told me i wouldnt make the cut. so again i really appreciate what you guys and gals do for all of us.

Everyone on here that is down grading people that is drawing unemployment and making a little cash on the side need to stop and think about this.. Im 23 years old. ive worked with my dad ever sincei was able to work.ive had a stable job since i was sixteen years old. cop op out of high school with a machinist job, and 2 more jobs bettering my self from there, i was taught to bust ur butt and work for your money.. I was layed off dec 5 2008 i worked 60 and 70 hours a week for this company never missed a day of work for 4 years.. 2 weeks ago my cuzin got hired at this company doing my same job right out of high school. I got a check stub out the other day 998.87. Im sure that everyone knows that unemployment is 415 a week!! Do you see any darn diff there.. As somebody said that u dont need a 30 thousand dollar truck and a house and etc.. But i did buy that with a nice boat.. Im not going to file bankrupsy at 23 i cant make it on that.. The way i looked at it i brought 998.87 home and grossed close to 16oo dollars on them checks and i had insurane taking out but the rest went to uncle sam. So in other words ive paid my taxes to deserve my unemployment.. No im not going to go out here and get a job making what i can make in unemployment that would just be plumb ignorant. now if i could find a job making more hey lead me the way.. So for some people thats talked about young people being lazy and drawing there unemployment and not trying to find a job, thats fine but ud do the same darn thing if you couldnt make more than what u draw. I never asked to get layed off and loose my job, so im not going to ask the president to keep sign unemployment bills to give me more money..
houndcrazy--ya gotta remember what your dealing with sometimes,,someone posted that 319 a week is plenty to live on--haha i doubt that here.
i can earn up to 700 a week--working at a job and i can still file for a partial check--it would be for 64 bucks--when i have the opportunity to do that i do.
unemployment is a form of income releif--not a source of income.
If people want to take money from the government and lie and do underhanded things to get it,fine.I personally don't beleive in it.In my opinion thats alot of the problem with this country today.You can try to justify it any way you want but in the end,the truth stands and you are the one that has to face yourself in the mirror.Seems like alot of people don't take any pride in themselves as being a supporter and provider for their families.They are content just taking what they can get from the government and and letting the goverment support them. I'm not talking about people that have put 20 years in and now disabled or people that are born with legitimate disabilities.I'm talking about the CHEESE RATS.The ones who don't work but could,don't want to work,and are just looking for a free ride in this life.Men,take some pride in yourslves,get a GET-R-DONE ATTITUDE AND ACT LIKE MEN!I know some areas have lost their whole industries and I feel for you,but if things are so bad there,maybe you should look at a new area.If you get the right attitude and mind set you can acheive anything in this country.Enough typing,I gotta go to WORK.

What ever u guys say aint going to be the one to try and prove a point right or wrong.... Its easier just to talk about it when u have never been in there shoes, and im sure some ppl might have.. And i dont see where taking the money from the gov is so darn bad when a man has payed taxes before.. And as far as the working i promise ya im not one of them lazy person, ill keep up with anyone as long as i know whats going on i have THE GETTER DONE ATTITUDE.
I hate to tell you this but you have proven my point completely. You say that you can get a job paying similar pay but instead you are going to stay home as it is a nobrainer. My simple point is that if unemployment was short and a stopgap as it was meant to be, you would be working like the rest of us. What you dont understand is the taking money from the government is corrupting. Its why politicians give stuff away, to garner your vote and to own you. This attitude that its ok to take money from the government is far away from what our founding fathers envisioned. It is the selling of your soul.
I make runs on many people sitting in apts with 4 or 5 kids everyday in govt housing,free health care, watching big screen tvs in perfectly good health. Why are they there???? Cause they are not IGNORANT I guess. Its easier to sit around and get the government handout than start to work in a job where there is less, they dont wann be IGNORANT do they????? And did I see that right, you were laid off over a year ago and a half ago, if you think what your doing is any different than collecting welfare you are sadly mistaken, especially since indicate you could be working, and probably are under the table as you dont think theres nothing wrong with it. Those folks on welfare sitting on their A$$es dont see anything wrong with it either. The more people make excuses in life for not doing the right thing the easier it is each time to do the wrong thing. It is a slippery slope. And when a country begins to see things this way it is the corruption and the beginning of the end for that country.
A go getter or getter done personality in my book is a guy who goes out and gets-r-done. He works for the money rather than takes a handout cause its easier. I was told to fill out forms to get unemployment when I got out of the Army the first time, I looked at them confused and said why??? I AM GOING TO GET A JOB. I have been out of jobs a couple of times in my life, never thought of putting in for unemployment I went out and found a job.
