Seen a few bear cross the highway between seney and munsing. Not sure where the management lines are. Bear in nearly all parts of that area. One thought if your bait hunting, is busy roads. Like deer hunting you don't want to have your scent floating into the area you expect the bear to come from. There are a number of diferent baits you can use. Everything from fish parts, grain, jellys, cones, doughnuts, breads, beaver, you name it. I've used pie filling and outdated bread, with some grease. There was a bait dealer in the pinconing area. Check for leads on animal feed from some of the cereal factories. Best bait for me is something that won't spoil in your garage and stink up the place. check the regs for approved baits.
Beagling is not a science, just an opinion!

I have a very good friend, who lives in Newberry..i used to hunt with them every fall, when i was feeding plot hounds..i know you like to run coons and coyotes. in my opinion, there is nothing more exciting than a bear chase.. he baits also...he will put you on bears..send me a pm

When we were kids a guy used to pay a buddy of mine to unwrap outdated twinkies and snack cakes that he got from a distributor, you may be able to get somefrom a guy in your area. The east side of 123 may be better for you if you are bait hunting because some guys won't cast dogs there because there are very few roads that go through there and it is hard to get to the dogs sometimes.
