i need kennal pics

i was wanting to see some kennal pics im going to buid a new kennal that will have four runs im not sure if i want above ground or concrete i guess if i see some pics itll help me decide

also wich is better for hot humid summers and winters thatare hit and miss sometimes cold and snowy sometimes 50 degrees in january

I've had both, and always prefer above-ground kennels as long as they have some sort of cover (a tarp over half) or shade, a porch outside the box, and the runs are large enough to move about. Regardless of the weather the dogs stay clean and dry, the birds can't get to their food, strays can't hop the fence and breed them, they can't dig out, they neighbor kids can't open your gate while you're gone and let them out....

They are much safer, (and they feel much safer) in above-grounds. The key (just my opinion) to long-term kenneling above ground is to have a fenced area where they can get down on the ground for a little while each day they aren't running, to get some kennel relief. A good cleaning tip is to buy some thick rubber horse stall mats and put under them. Rake the turds up, hose them down with a soap sprayer.

If you're where you can keep a few chickens or guineas, you'll never have to clean under a kennel. I have mine 2 feet off the ground. I let the chickens out 3 or 4 hours a day and you won't find any turds there.

If you are looking to do some ground kennels, here is how I did mine. I like them real well and if I decide to ever build anymore they will be just like these. Not great pics but you can get an idea.

I use the rubber horse mats as well. I have an on the ground kennel at this time, but the rubber horse mats work really well, easy to scrub and a lot cheaper than concrete.

Ground kennels for us,the building portion is 20x24, the outside pad is 24x24 with 9 runs off building and 2 10x10 kennels for young dogs to play around in all day.Boxes and building well insulated and stays pretty cool in the summer and warm in winter. Has water and heat. Pen in the corner is where the pups go at 3 weeks till then we keep em in the house.We are still working on it but the dogs dont seem to mind.

This one is 10' X 20'. It has four runs that are 5'X8' and has a 2' shelf on the back for the boxes, feeders, and messing with pups(the back of the boxes have large doors). I used 2"X4" horse fencing for the enclosure, I've had bad luck with chain-link. Nothing's penetraded the horse fencing to date. The floor is spaced 2X4's. I use a hoe to clean the kennels a couple days a week, and power wash about once a month.

If I were going to build it again, I would make two 10' X 10' units with about 4' between them just to make cleaning easier.

Look all you want, no crap beneath the kennel.
