Good e-collar for less then 150??

Post by ArrowsFlight »

I know this is a long shot, but I really need an e collar and only have 150 to spend. That probably means a second-hand one, but where do I look and what do I look for? Any suggestions appreciated.

What I need it for is mostly recall work, not at any huge distance. Also, he is very distractable. When he's doing well, he has actually caught a couple of rabbits (pins them with his paws till I get there and pick it up) but then other times he just goes dashing off after first one scent, then another, then there's a squirrel, etc and this is when he does his I dont wanna come and you cant catch me thing.

I've never used an e collar before, always a long line, but there's too much brush here and when he's going well there's nowhere he won't follow a rabbit and gets tangled, punishing himself for the one thing he's doing right.
So I am a total e-collar newb.

Help me Obi-Won!!

Go To Collar Clinic http://www.collarclinic.com then go to reconditioned units and they have reconditioned tritronics and other brand units in your price range. Probably not the range of some of the new systems for what your wanting to spend but still some good deals. Or check the equipment classifieds sometimes guys sell there used gear on here.
