i mean...seriously...what did ol Jim do...except defend himself???...if i read this right...he was sucker punched for asking a question...right???...after that..Jim did what Jim had to do to survive!!!...did he really have a choice???...i dont see where Jim had the chance to analyze the situation...and decide what action to take!!!!...i do have to say this...i will give Jim his due respect...i mean...if a guy takes a shot in the mouth like that...and is now on his back...then plants a kick in that manner...then picks up a cow bell on the way up and knocks someones brain loose in self defense!!!...way to go Jim!!!...you are a tough dude...and i wouldnt want to mess with you!!!....LOL

This kind of thing is going on all over the place. I have a neighbor that had several dogs stolen after a couple came to look at a few to buy. They said they would get back with him about the beagles. That night they they got back with him alright, and he was short a few dogs the next morning. Two days later on the other side of town a couple stopped in on a very nice elderly lady that rases show rabbits. They told her they just got some beagles and needed some rabbits to work them with. She didn't sell them any, same story we will get back with you. Next morning she had no rabbits left. I am thankful that there are still people out there like Mr. Lane, someone willing to right a wrong and not afraid of the cost. Thank you Mr Lane!

Bluebeagle I used to keep one for that same reason myself but he died last winter at the age of 11 and I have been debating on getting another one but I think I will be looking for another rottweiler pup close to Richmond, Ky. He protected not only the house but the kennel and family as well.

He went over to find out who the crook was instead of turning his back and choosing to just stay out of it, that's what he did. You'd be surprised how many people would rather not have a confrontation and just walk away for fear of exactly what happened when he did so for that Jim YOU DA MAN!!!! I'll give you MORE than your due for doing the right thing and having the stuff to back it up when it went south on ya. If we had more people like Jim out there the world would be a much better place.

great job standing up for the good guys and not backing down. hats off to Jim Lane. I think the cowbell should be made into the trade days knockout king trophy for Jim. I will say lucky those boys didnt sucker punch and knockdown someone who was carrying. with all the concealed permits issued now , those thieves have to be getting stupider and stupider by the second.

later, dave
