The Ivomec I buy is 1% for cattle. Is the type your buying 10% ivermectin? do you dilute it to be 1%?
I'm all for saving a dime, is the 10%, 10X stronger than the 1% due to the concentration? What is it labeled for (animal)?
It's been a while since I've been on this site because of work and some computer problems. I also use Ivomec and haven't had any problems with my beagle or labs. I like seeing Cajunmeadows' link. I own that book as well and The Little Black Book. I keep them on the shelf next to each other and every time one of my friends asks about dog health, I can pull them both down and look for the answer.
I spoke to my vet recently on this matter. he told me to use just as what everyone here recommends. he even gave me a couple 1ml syringes to use. I'm going to start using it once spring hits.

I use it 9 months out of 12. I give the dogs a break from all meds jan through march. These are the cold weather months and from i have learned on here and through family (dog breeders) members i just don't think they need to be shot up all year long. I worm my dogs twice a year (May and October), and will switch the type of wormer so the dog doesn't build an immune to it.
If i'm whelping a litter thats something that i address totally different. I try to worm the dam the first week of heat, and then breed her on days 12 though 15. I worm pups at 3 6, 9, 12, and 6 month. Worm mom at 6 weeks when i wean the pups (repeat agian three weeks later). I don't like to worm the dam and the pups when they are still nursing. That to me gives them a double shot and could hurt the pups. May not be what the vets recomend but it has worked for me. Start pups on Ivomec at 9 months old. Give the 1st rabbies at 1 year.

I use Ivomec as well. I have a really good vet that is also a breeder and instead of using it full stregnth she delutes it for me. I find it much eaiser to dose properly. She uses an iron based suppliment and I give 1 ml per 12 pounds. Works great and is a heck of a lot simpler than trying to draw up .12 ml for a 12 pound dog. I really like this solution. Just MHO.
Guys im confused as hell i use Noromectin 1% ( generic ivomec) cattle and swine i use 1cc/ml for adult dogs 18-20pds and 1/2cc for pups after they get 3months old.I dont have a syringe that measures in .10cc all mine are .5 to 1cc am i giving to much? Donald
Thanks Joey after looking at my syringe it goes to 3cc/ml but there are 10 smaller lines between each cc guess i should have looked at my syringe a little closer thanks Donald
