Yes,
Spook is doing well also, she struggled with the snow at first but every time out she improves. She just needs to learn to slow down in the tough conditions and stop making so many checks. Fortunately Hammer cleans the checks up, but when she can control herself and stop trying to race Hammer just to get ahead of him, its a lot cleaner and smoother. I'm off this week so I have been hunting every day since Christmas and today was her best so far, she has some pretty sore feet from the ice which made her slow down.
I'm heading up to the cabin Thurs. so she'll get two days to rest and heal up a bit. I will run Pearl alone again tomorrow, she isn't quite bringing them around full circle with these crap conditions.

Preacher,
Pea Dab is a 4 yr old, 13 1/2 inch or better, lemon bitch that is all hunt & quick as a cat, I sent her to Jack Steward as a pup & I got her back when she finished out because she was to fast for his pack. I bred her to Boss Man last Summer & had 5 pups, I kept 2 females , Crossfire got 1 female, Carl Wireman got a male & another male went to Nebraska. All of the litter are doing an extra fine job for their ages & the cross really worked exceptionally well. I will be breeding them again in Spring, I am going to build up a few extra dogs out of Boss for myself in the coming couple years as the old man is not going to be around forever. Crossfire can tell you about his pup as he is on this board on occasion & when he saw I was planning on breeding them again has already emailed me to put him on the list.

The female I got off Plowboy has all kinds of hunt in her. I took her to a pen to get her started and the guy that started her didn't think much about patch dogs but she opened his eyes. He said that dog had more hunt than a pup her age should have. He said that little gyp would crawl on her side to get a rabbit up, that she loved to hunt so much. I asked him should I take her home and runner with a slower beagle he said know you can run her with anything you want or by herself. He said you could kill rabbits with her now. I took her out the first time and my slow dogs bad to cold trail so she jumped her own rabbit and they lost it , the slow dog back tracked and she stayed with it on her own and got it back up and the race was on. I jumped three or four rabbits that day and she jumped two of them. :D :D

Sounds like you need to cull the back trackers & hunt the pup alternating between others her style & solo until you are satisfied she is ready to move up into your A- Pack. I would also kill a rabbit over her & be sure & fuzz her with the rabbit & give her the taste of the kill.
I firmly believe nothing puts the finishing touches on a pup like the smell of powder & the taste of blood. I like to do this with just me & the pup, not a big gang hollering & hooping & ringing out shots from 12 gauge automatics, sometimes that makes me nervous, I can only imagine how a pup would feel.
