Question for any one

Post by Tsa la gi »

There has been some discussion on my e/ms about pure and out cross. How many generations do you think it takes to make an outcross pure? I consider any out cross showing in a 5 generation not pure.

i would go with your thoughts as well. 6 back and then everything else whatever breeding ur into would pretty much be pure whatever your flavor is . imo.

From what I can figure out Casey is pure until the 7th,them you start getting into Franks Jubal Watatic rob and the rest of the foundation stock. Namrog an all the rest. Its very intresting to me . Don`t claim to know ,but i can read and i`m finding out .

I'm confused as to your question!
What do you consider '"pure' no out cross can become pure IMO

Now I`m confused, maybe I should have said full? According to that there probably isn`t any pure strain of dogs. Just trying to clarify something for myself. I think that every breed of dogs has a number of out crosses to get what ever the person/s wanted, to get what they call a certain breed name.

I disagree. The outcross is a new line and is pure. What the breeder breeds that dog to will determine if its another outcross or a continuation of a new line.

This is a ped of my Shantillie bitch. I know what I think. Is this hound full, pure or what? Seems as though terminology or how any thing is versed plays a big roll in things.

there are some pure lines still out there!..i know a guy that created a bloodline..and still has some pure and 100% his line!!...but i know it takes a long time and a lot of generations to accomplish this...and a lot of inbreeding and line breeding!!...NO OUTCROSSING!!!...1 outcross and the line starts to be diluted!!!

you have a dog there that is bred patch top and bottom but that dont mean it any more pure than some other lines.people see patch an think it all the exact same family but over the years the patch dogs have been bred by alot of diffrent breeder for diffrent likes and dislikes so running styles are diffrent even though there all patch as far as you can see you can still breed patch that are so far apart it could be an outcross.in my view in order to have a patch dog you would have had to buy it from willet just like if get branko dog it has to come straight from branko.once someone else breeds for there likes then those pups belong to that breeder, now you still have a family of dogs that go back to who started them but they cant take the credit or the blame if pups dont turn out if they didnt personally breed them

The blood that runs through my veins is Tsa La Gi.

What do you call pure.

Bloodlines

Didn`t say that don`t have a clue as to how an out cross makes it pure.

I will agree with doubleb. When Frank Willet quit breeding there went the PURE TRUE AND TRIED PATCH HOUNDS. Frank had his own way of breeding. I think people now do havw patch blood but not PURE PATCH BREEDING.
