breeding

Post by Smoke »

I have three females.
One of them came into heat about a couple of days ago. I put my male in there and he is trying so hard to do his job. but she will not let him this is her 3rd day. coming. everytime he get up there she will eat him up. will she soon let him dothe thing. his first time through the pups were awesome but this is a different female. I hope they do ok.

Will it hurt them to be in the pen with some other females.

;) When she is ready she will let him mount.
Sometimes the hormones cause problems with other females. I have seen my females attack a female coming in and have a heck of a fight. I usually move the one coming in out of the pen with other females just to be on the safe side.

Another idea is to take that female out and put her in his pen. Some males feel more comfortable in their own space. I would guess she is on the early side to because when she is ready she will be waving in front of his face. ;)

Smoke get the male out of there for now he may not eat or anything while with her , if she is only three or four days in it may be a week before she is ready , I've always had most sucess at the 9th thru the 12th day but I usually put the male with her a a time or two to see if she is willing if she is not willing just get the male back out no need pulling the male down before she gets ready  I could say something here BUT I just let it ride haha, good luck on your breeding .
