How this kind of violence is funny to folks is amazing to me. It does not appear that these people broke any laws. I don't agree with their position on leather at all but, it is very dangerous and deadly to take these sophomoric actions. Wrapping people in Saran wrap and attaching them to tree can do serious damage to many parts of the body. Do people deserve to die because they don't agree with others? I have had people yell and scream at me for running my beagles at night because they make too much noise. I don't agree with their position but I did them no harm for holding it.

Showing up to protest is one thing, but they crossed the line when they began throwing the balloons. Personally I think it was handled in a professional manner! lol

Sorry buck but I can't agree with you on this one. First of all they didn't just show up with signs and stand and watch.........they hollered obscenities and threw fake blood inside of a water balloon at them in an attempt to disrupt the gathering that they took the time to schedule, set up and pay for. I'm hear to tell you if an animal activist ever shows up to protest one of my pig roasts they can expect the same treatment. And don't forget water balloons can hurt if they land in just the right spot...........OUCH!!! While I can agree that maybe they shouldn't have peed on them..........although I find it slightly amusing....and pretty gross too.........maybe they'll think about how they treat others the next time they decide to hold a demonstration.

Those guys seem to get more rights that the rest of the population most times because they exploit the constitution and in my opinion use loopholes to abuse their rights generally in an effort to disrupt others. Relate that to being out hunting and having people purposefully getting in your way so you can't enjoy a perfectly legal hunt that you planned. Your comparison about running dogs at night holds no water with me because that's a courtesy thing. They can't legally stop you but in order to be neighborly sometimes we have to be a little careful about when and where we run our beagles. IMO they got a small taste of the crap they choose to put others through........a little light hazing didn't kill me in college and they don't seem to be much worse for the wear either.

..............and being that they were dealing with "bikers" they're lucky that was all they got. You know the reputation most people associate with bikers.

I'm having trouble seeing how you feel they did nothing wrong? They were throwing water balloons full of fake blood. I think it's awesome what happened to them and I believe that they brought it upon themselves. It's not like the bikers went out of their way to disrupt and abuse them. The animal rights activist instigated the whole thing. Kudos to the bikers that put them in their place!

I think it was the right thing to do.When I was in Fort Benning we got tired of this little circle jerk messin things up.
we put rabbit poop in a m&m bag and gave it to him. He started eating it ,said it tast like _ _ _ _ ,we told him that was his reward for being such a turd. No more problems,he smartened up real quick, hopefully tjhose jackass did to.

Hazing, teasing, and army pranks are different from outright violence although I don't think any are acceptable behavior. All this was on public property and expected because each side knew the other was coming and these little shenanigans are common practice. My point was the outright violence and the encouraging of it. A 'biker' because they ride bikes are not immune from common codes of morality.

By doing what these people did, they also gave attention to a group that exists solely to get this type of attention. Walk away and there is no evening news coverage. Respond and everyone gets to see these people up close and personal. Sophocles once referred to "a remedy too strong for the disease". If we try to repay evil with goodness, perhaps people with different viewpoints can learn to coexist. There are too many right and left wing quacks out there to waste time time with anyway.

This probably sounds jingleistic and probably preachy, but IMO one should not encourage violence from either perspective and it is never funny.
Perhaps, I have seen too much violence and not enough understanding so I apologize to those who may be offended.

Snopes says it is a hoax, written for satire. If you look closely at the Glossynews item, it attributes the source to a "satirical" publication.

Buck you gotta learn to lighten up. Near as I can tell no one was physically hurt and public property or not if your gonna sling some mud then you better be able to take it in return. And I was not trying to say that what they did was ok just because they are bikers........it was meant as a joke because they decided to pick on a group of bikers. And yes I said pick on because that's all they do is pick on anyone that doesn't believe the same things they do. Educating people is one thing but freedom of speech or not I look at demonstrations as harassing people.........all be it a legal form of harassment. As far as for the attentions they got...I'd be willing to bet the majority of the people in the country would get a good little chuckle out of what happened because they finally got a little taste of their own medicine. IMO this is in no way "violence"...........assuming it's a true story to begin with.
