Dogs & Coyote - Action Shots

Post by birmi1nr »

Since the snow was to deep to get any good rabbit running in, took the camera along on this weekends coyote hunt and ended up with a couple of good photos that I thought others might enjoy.

We ended up with a total of 4 yotes for the weekend which makes a total 10 coyotes that we have taken out of this particular SGA for the year. Hopefully this will help bring the rabbit population back up to what it used to be in this area.

He isn't my dog, but I believe he is Walker Crogan mix. I believe the Crogran breed had some greyhound bred into it way back when.

If that dogs a true croghan bred hound there's no greyhound in him. I know Bill Croghan and he's never owned or bred a greyhound. Croghan isnt its own breed of dog just one mans breeding of walkers with a little july sprinkled in. I'd say what you're seeing is the touch of july in him.

If I keep losing places to run rabbits I think I'll get some coyote dogs. Surely any one would let you run a cayote dog. How many do you need to run at a time and do they go for the kill or do you do it ? How big an area do most coyotes run with a pack after them?

mobeagle, is Bill Croghan still alive? We bought some Julys from him back is 1972. The last time I talked to him I think he had actually gotten some beagles.
