UKC Hunting Beagle Format.

UKC AT LARGE IS NOT THAT BAD. BUT IT DONT TAKE YOU LONG TO SEE WHATS GOING ON.
BY THE WAY THERE IS 2 JUDGES ON A FINAL CAST!
SHOWS YOU HOW MUCH YOU KNOW ABOUT THINGS!

Dale Rivers that is an easy copout ,since you know everyones business tell us about it ? 1 Final 4 was won by a gentleman by a coin toss called by the other cast member (to get to the final 4 this individual defeated 3 other locals including the former Pt. Pleasant PRESIDENT (also known as LIAR AND COWARD )AND HE WAS JUDGING , THE 2ND FINAL 4this individual made it to there were 2 judges and not locals because they werent compitent enough to produce 1 living soul to judge so they made the choice as they had numerous tiimes with these individuals plus others .Any how it came down to last 2 or 3 minutes judges called a line the 2 judges declared 2 dogs crossed 2 didnt when the winner was announced all was asked was about a position on a strike with one of the other cast members .This individual won 1st again ,yay When they got back to the club house the comment was made by the PRESIDENT ALSO KNOWN AS LIAR AND COWARD THAT thats 2 1sts there is gonna have to be a stop made to you OHIO boys coming down here and winning Also this same individual won a 4th place there a year ago by drawing straws and in thy reg cast he wasnt the judge neither .Fact is the whole club officers and the 2 coward chicken shi- brothers need barred.The lil chicken shi -s dont have the dog power to win nor have the money to go anywhere else so they figured out how to eliminate the competition .

Sounds about like the usual crap that goes on at coonhunts.I am gonna try and make it to the hunt,it is only about an hour or so from me.I aint going expecting to win,I would just like to get a feel for what kind of dogs are being hunted in it.
It would be cool to make it through the first round though.Never know,beginners luck and all,lol.

You won't regret it. Like I said there are some good guys over there and it's a good hunt. I would suggest spectating some other cast while you're there as well. It may give you a better idea as to what kind of dog you'll need. Good luck, and have a great time.

And if you don't like this format 2 weeks after the eliminator
we are having the ukc pp nationals its a good format as well
and we are also having arha pp hunts and lp hunts in march and april

A few years ago a dog made it to the final 4 I think in the eliminator the guy handling him it was his first hunt. My advice though is just to avoid getting a bad taste in your mouth for the format is go to a few small hunts and spectate a few and ask a club officer for a rule book before jumping into the big hunts the eliminator is like the beagle equivalent to autumn oaks probably 3rd biggest hunt UKC hunting beagle has to offer.

Just my opinion build your way up to it not saying they don't have some good guys at the Eliminator because I had a great time there but there will be people there to win and they might not flat cheat you but someone who doesn't know the rules can easily make a mistake that could cost themselves or even a cast member a win.

I lost a cast out there because I had a cast member that didn't understand a call and voted wrongly after we signed the card and were headed back he asked me about the call and I explained it and showed him the rule book he wanted to change his vote but it was to late then and the master of hounds wouldn't fix it. It wasn't a big deal or anything and I'm not saying that will happen to you but go into it with an open mind and have fun if your there to have fun and get the whole expeirence you can't lose.

r u people serious? at what point do u think any person should judge there own dog? this format has a good base however to many people arent decent enough to do it correctly.all formats have holes. however this one brings out the worst in people and far more often than not puts the wrong dog in the next round. when i go to a field trial i want to see the best dog that day win.this format and the "judges" have no intention of accomplishing that. they have the intention of their dog winning. am i the only person that sees the problem with that? by the way what are the requirements needed to be a judge? i have seen dogs win an entire hunt without opening on a track. and saw more than one rabbit in front of the dogs. and the best part is the handler did not break or stretch a rule. the only reason to run this format is for convienence and u dont care if the best dog wins and u can minipulate the cast members to your benifit. i have run this format in the past and will in the future. but with the knowledge and expectation that the best dog will only win 20% of the time.in fact at times having the best dog can quickly land u last in the cast. to me hbch means nothing more than a large probability of a manufactured title and any one who is honest with themselves and is a decent houndsman can at least see the points listed.

There are crooked guys in every format. I don't care whether it's UKC, AKC, or ARHA. I've been to all three and have talked with judges and handlers from all three. I've seen and/or have heard of guys cheating in UKC HB, UKC PP, ARHA LP, and yes AKC. Anytime competition is involved there are guys that will cheat. That's just the way it is. I just like UKC HB because I have a say so and there is a majority vote in the field. I'm not bashing any other formats or specific people, just saying that it happens in all of them, and that's a fact. I'm not biased either, over the next couple of years I plan on attending more ARHA LP, UKC PP, and AKC Midwest trials to see more of what else is out there. Good luck at the hunts guys.

You need to know every rule in the book,and be able to use them like a lawer in a court room.

That is the truth,,LOL..Sharp pencil and be a golden glove boxer.

alot of the times its the handler that wins dont have nothing to do with the dog just a sharp handler that knows how to bend the rules to his favor
