Kennel Bottoms

Post by gdawgs »

I have noticed different materials used for above ground kennel floors. Mesh, 1x1's etc. What kind of above ground ground floors do you prefer? explain the reason behind your selection.

I've always had good luck with the wood slots. Poop falls thru and its easy on their feet. If you have to replace them its very easy. They are cheap too. Hope that helps

Look at this web site http://www.a-vinternational.com they sell green house supplies, look at the 24" x 48" bench tops I saw a few elevated kennels on this site that used their products and it looks like they would work perfect. That is what I am going to order when the weather breaks. Looks like it would be easy on the dogs feet ,easy to clean, fairly cheap, easy to replace if you had to, requires support every two feet to prevent sagging. I don't no if a dog could chew through it or not. It is going to cost me $32.00 for five pieces shipped to my house I'm going to build a 4' x 12' kennel. They will send you a free sample so you can see how it is made. Phil

I bumped my post to the top and someone posted a picture of the hog floors I used. It is super heavy-duty and very easy to clean with a hose but now it is cold here in Michigan I have to use a hoe to clean them. I like it alright and they were given to me so I couldn't beat the cost but the stuff zambron posted looks better.

I looked at the greenhouse bench flooring and it looks pretty good.
Can you put the supports at the same distances they suggest for beagles?
