went hunting today. My Mother said that she had not seen Grandaughter in sometime (which means) I go hunting. It got up into the high twenties, and I took advantage of both. I had two great races early. both were over half an hour each, and ended in a junk pile. never could get to a place to shoot the dang rabbit. I went to another farm after dinner, and had another good race. ended it with a kill shot. I think that it is all that I might get for the rest of the week. I think that it is supposed to start snowing here after 10pm. if Joeyman is getting snow, that means that we will get it soon. St. Louis usually gets it about 6 to 8 hours before us.

on the tv the news crew and the weatherman are going nuts with updates. and cutting into the regular program for updates. Its a coming. suppose to be really windy in the morning. i don't think i'm going to work. maybe at noon for a half day.
Re: cold here how bout you?
i think I could have converted you to a snow lover today had you been here running with us today, Joey. We still had about 4" on, temp about 33F, light winds. We had 4 hounds running from 09:30 to 2:30. It was world class running with the snow making the rabbits easier to see. We'll be having world class bad weather by tomorrow though - wind chill down to -20F. Better not complain; the Canada, Michigan, New York boys will be making fun of us.Joeyman wrote:I strongly dislike hunting in snow.

-5 to +8 actual temp. at the cabin this past weekend, don't know what it was with the wind chill but it was very windy, hardly got any hunting in though. Had some moisture in the fuel filter, ended up freezing and popping an O-ring in the one fuel filter, had diesel fuel running out all over the top of the engine. Ended up spending my time working on the truck and getting parts. Didn't plug in the block heater overnight, won't forget to do that again!
The path I'm standing on when taking the picture leads to the outhouse, a little brisk on the ole backside when needed.
Suppose to get up to 8 inches tonight and tomorrow, should be a good weekend with some fresh snow.

It is hard to say how much snow we have in Northeast Missouri. They tell us around 5 inches but with this wind blowing 35 to 40 miles a hour there are drifts around 9 to 10 inches. They are calling for it to get down to -8 to -10 below tonight with the winds it will feel like 40 to 50 below. the Highs for Friday and Saturday will never get out of single digit. But long range forcast says middle 30's by next wednesday. Those bunnies better look out if the dogs make it thru this cold spell.
