Pine mt not sure if it is a misprint or exactly where it came from but it should be 990 billion in 1980 to around 4 trillion in 1992 but again I applaud you looking for some facts. It is a trend as you said which appears to be getting worse with every new administration.

As I have said in the past Bush (who added 4 trillion) had a bad spending philosophy which is why I am so hard on the current administration that seems to be even worse.

I don't take it personal either. Before Obama and the Progressives are finished we will all be in the same treadmill trying to generate enough energy to keep the lights on. Once the windmills stop, the the squirrell cage generators, powered by old conservatives, will be the next option.

I noticed Obama has the same group of eggheads, who engineered the stimulus bill, that created no jobs, back in Washington planning to create jobs. Their idea is to change the name from "Stimulus bill" to "Jobs Bill". That should do it. I saw some statistics that 92% of the folks who make up the "Jobs Summit" were college professors, economists, and labor union executives. I wonder if there were any Trial Lawyers there. No one, who was critical of the Stimulus Bill, Health Scare Bill, or Cap and Trade was invited.

This is where Obama has it right now and it is still growing 12,097,573,431,203.08.

The deficit for fiscal year 2009, which ended Sept. 30, came in at a record $1.42 trillion, more than triple the record set just last year. How do you like that for a trend? Not even a full year in office and he is not just setting a record but he is TRIPLING it.
