whats the best dog food regardlees of price

That EVO is awsome stuff and if you are asking best food regardless of price that is the way to go, the taste of the wild is probly just as good. That link to lanelines site is great. I am feeding Diamond chicken and rice at the moment and like it, but I notice they are looking a little slim on it. I was wondering if any guys on here have ever tried the Diamond chicken and rice extreme athlete(35/25)? I think I may just have to adjust the quanity I am feeding due to the cold weather moveing in for the winter but I was thinking about supplementing that extreme athlete once deer rifle season is over and we start running hard. I have fed just about everything made at one time or another and have had excellent results out of a very select few- Eagle pack holistic selects rate among the top ones, Canidae is the most current that gave premium results. I have fed just about all Purina recipes at one time or another and as a whole Purina is the bottom of the list, all corn and grain and apparently the best marketing department of all pet foods made. My favorite and most effective by a mile is a natural raw diet, I feed raw cheaper than any commercial feed available and you simply cant compare to this type of diet. By far the best. Kurt

I have fed the Diamond Chick and Rice for the last 3 years, had the same thing happen every winter, couldnt keep weight on them. I would not feed the Extreme Ath. straight, it has way too much protien. Last winter I mixed the two 50/50 had good results. I am feeding Black Gold Blue bag 24/20 now and like it even better than the Diamond. The dogs seem to do better on it as well, and the stools are much better. The Diamond chick and rice was so rich they never had solid stools. Like someone else said, where does the money go, I went with Black Gold becouse they are houndsmen and always help clubs when you ask them. They seem to care about us more than some.

funny i bought a small bag of that tastes of the wilds (thinking i would give um a treat) and they would NOT eat it and iv never seen them not pound food down.iv tried purina and diamond with no luck bad stool.iv been feeding black and gold and the dogs love it good stool very healthy coats no weight problems.

i let the cost of the product make up my mind but if money was not in my thoughts i would feed the best feed that i have fed and that is purina pro plan, hands down the best i have fed. i have tried diamond(green bag) sportsmans pride sportsmix and black gold and all seem to be good feed but the pro plan is my pick of the litter. but until my boat gets in i guess i will keep feeding black gold (black bag). it is the in my top 3 for the price.........

I'm feeding Diamond hi energy its prbly the best dog food i've fed next to purina high performance. Lots of people don't like purina for its high corn content and lower quality meat. I've looked around Evo is the best quality dog food i've found seems to be evo. 55 and some change for 28lbs bag. I'm considering feeding a raw diet. Trying to find the proper amount to feed a dog and a cheap source for the indgredients. If i can find and make it cost effective i'm going that route. Most people want to feed a dog food with the best meat ingredients for the price as it is. so it only makes sense to me to try the raw diet if it can be done cost efficiently. I've fed sportmix red bag, and pride white bag for a long time prbly 2 years each i would'nt recommend it to anyone. I had alot of prblms with tooth decay on pride, and sportmix required alot of extra feed during hunting season to keep the dogs looking healhty, and never did get a coat sheen from either. Crystal 24 18 was good for the coats, but i lost the dealer and it was'nt best, but pretty good. Fed black gold years ago when it first came out and was reasonably priced, there prices sky rocketed with increased popularity so i wrote it off just for that reason. Ol roy lamb rice believe it or not is a pretty decent food itself too compared to sportmix and pride believe it or not. I had a while about 10 months were i fed that between sportmix and pride. It just did'nt give very consistent stool. A problem i noticed noticed with crystal, sportmix and pride. My dogs do very well on diamond hi energy though! The only reason i will come off diamond hi energy is if i decide to go raw. I'm currently supplementing the hi energy diamond with 1 1000mg fish oil pill a day, it really helps with the coats my dogs look great!!! I keep one in the house and the other two are outside you can't tell the difference between my house dog and my two outside dogs coats. I feed one coffee cup once a day and they stay just right even with alot of running. It's doing very well for me after 10 years of playing around i'm pretty happy with what i'm feeding. Still want to try the raw diet though. Finaly getting good stools too no more squirts 10 ft away when you cut them loose on a cool frosty morning.

THE BEST FEEED I HAVE FED UP TO THIS POINT IS PURINA PRO PLAN //..its fairly high but the dog looked great on it i'll proably buy some this yr and mix it ..i buy cheap hot dogs too and feed them about once a week a hot dog apiece that aint much but they love it and its gotta help them some!

If you’re serious and money does not matter, it would be Native Dog Food. It is really the only “performance” dog food out there. It is mainly used by/for Sled Dog competition canines and Grey Hound race dogs. They have levels 1, 2, 3 & 4. If you were to feed level 4 you need to actually be running you’re dogs long hours, extremely hard and everyday, or you will jack you’re dogs up like the incredible hulk {when he is angry}. But they do have different levels according to how you personally run your dogs. It is a little hard to find and it is expensive {$45.00 -to- 65.00 for 40#}, but it is the best for the pure motive of enhancing performance/hunting dogs. I got a few bags from a friend and it does work and has very clear advantages after you feed it to you’re dogs regularly, but I simply can’t afford it with the number of dogs that I have compared to the numbers that my bank account says that I have…lol… so I would have to agree with the above suggestions.
