chapko,

You can run the sweeper all you want, you cant eliminate the hair on the funiture, the hair that shows up on your clothes etc. Granted if you are comitted to keeping a clean house you can do better than what most do but never as clean as not having pets in the house. I have 4 kids :baby: that make enough messes, I dont need it compounded by a couple indoor pets.

Im hyper sensivive to smells. I have been in countless homes with indoor pets (running a Schwan's route for 2 years and state policeman for 5 years) to make sure the dogs stay in the kennel.

I guess thats a decision everyone will have to make for themselves, my wife and I decided before we were married no indoor pets and we have stuck with it. :approve:

all three of mine live indoors,on the counch, eat at the table etc.
being in a house has absolutely nothing to do with them hunting or not.
i am sure there are more useless dogs kept outdoors than ones that are indoors
heres some of the pros in my opinion-they will handle better/be healthier/live longer/recover quicker/be better socially/you can notice if they are getting sick or are hurting/never any leftovers gone to the waste can

cons-ya gotta bathe them when they are muddy/stink/may get overweight if ya let them snack often
gotta get them out often(at least mine)so they dont tear up the place/keep garbage cans up(again just mine)

if you wanna see some house pets check out my clips here-theres enuff clips here to show that these house pets get meat to the table-these dogs aint world beaters but i like them-- i will put them down with anything and they will produce rabbits

here is a pic/clip where 4 of the six dogs are pets(last year)

i think its page three you can also see some of steves house pets--enjoy if ya like

also a good house pets makes a good footwarmer

i dont bathe mine often,i use rite-aid baby wash on thier coats.when the morning dew is heavy i just wipe a handful onto the dogs necks, sides and cut them loose, the dew washes them and they smell great without a harsh shampoo, shine like gloss with no flakin skin.

i bought shampoo that is 90 dollars a gallon. my girl friend was a pet groomer for a while, and was able to get a special shampoo it smell live lavender. it will last thew swamp and even rolling in dead stuff. i wash mine when they come in every night in the shower. that is throw them in tell them to stay, and turn on the water. they like the hot water after a long run. when my older dogs come in they go right in the bath room to get in the tub.(not being told) i do this every time in the summer because i get poison ivy off the dog.

I WILL SAY ONE THING DOG ARE CLEANER THAN KID AND A LOT LESS STRESSFUL IT NOT LIKE IF THE KIDS PIZZ YOU OFF. THEY GO ON THE AUCTION BLOCK

Didnt realize there would be so many opinions on this. Most of them the same. I also didnt realize so many people kept their hunting dogs inside. Well she looks like she enjoys the indoors!
