Actually you give me a hound with these three traits. Brains, Nose, Check Work. You have a hound with the brains, every thing else will fall into place. Your have more rabbit meat in the deep fryer and more trial trophies to count. Speed isn't a bad thing, but you need a hound with the brains to slow up or get quicker. Just my .02 cents

Feed what you like. Keep what you are willing to feed. These are cute sayings. The fact of the matter is Mark's dogs are a good goal for any rabbit hunter. Much faster and the rabbit is moving way too fast. That's no good. Get too slow and rabbit won't show himself. It's not a question of if a dog can run a rabbit faster. Why would you want to run the rabbit faster?

For the same reason you want to run the rabbit slower. because i like it that way, have you ever heard the saying, "To each his own"

The reason the videos were put on was for nothing more than pure entertainment. I have been putting them on the other boards for years and people have commented on them and ever criticize them in a way that I have absolutely no problem with. They were never put on to try and convince anybody my dogs style was better or worse than any other. For me it is the style of dog I really enjoy because I love watching the dogs and being able to video tape them. There are lots of videos of all styles of dogs to view and I enjoy watching all of them. The reason the videos were put on was for nothing more than pure entertainment. I would think we all have the same purpose and that is to circle the rabbit to the best of the dogs ability.

If you can stand to watch this style of dog this is one of last years hunting trips in the cold winter weather. These chases go on a lot longer but you can only upload 10 min. of video. I could always be talked into making dvd's to sell if there were ever a market for them. I need a contact to have them done by a professional.

Guess I havent been around beagles long enough, but I cant see why you would want or how a pack can run a rabbit any faster or smoother than that pack of hounds w/o constant breakdowns. I do agree though....."to each their own"

Yes, we've heard it. Why doesnt everyone try practicing what they preach?

If thats what you like thats fine. If thats what everyone else doing the bashing likes thats fine too.

So if you dont want your hounds to be like Mark's hounds, then why dont YOU try to be more like Mark? He doesnt come in here and bash other peoples hounds. Why do you people feel the need to create ill feelings? Is there a shortcoming somewhere else in your life?????????

If you cant comment in a positive way, or at least in a construcive way, then why comment?

Walker is my best jump dog and running dog in winter time. I hardly ever leave home without him. Staying in the house has had absolutely no effect on him.

You guys know you only get to see the good stuff. There is lots of bad just like with any dogs that I don't post. These dogs make lots of mistakes and have problems just like all dogs. The thing that we do enjoy is that we don't lose many rabbits because of the nose.

I have to wonder who's picking at the sore and feeding the infection...
Why does someone leave a happy home and come to the bar to fight...
