Looking for help in the Clarksville,Tn {WoodLawn Area}

Post by Canepole »

Hello to all, I posted another post on this board asking for advise,
I live just outside of Clarksville, in the Woodlawn area, and I Drive Big Trucks for a living and I don't hve a whole lot of time ,
I got hooked into running the dog's {rabbit Huntin} a couple years ago, and I'm still pretty green, and have a whole bunch to learn,
I have a good friend that lives in Cadiz Ky, and he has a bunch of Beagles, and he invited me over a couple years ago to watch his dog's run, Well after watching the dog's I didn't think to much about it, But just to have some thing to do, I started going over there, and it wasn't long after that, I got my own dog, and started taking him out on my property and letting him do his thing, I got to where I injoyed it, I bought me a training book and tried to teach him by the book, Well he got to be about 10 month's old and I talked to Gary,{ Cadiz friend} and he told me to bring Jess out and he would run him with his dog's, on the way out there, My latch on the dog box came open and I lost my dog, I spent a whole lot of time with him and learned a good lesson, (make sure the latch is fastened)
I ended up getting me another pup and worked with him and when he got big enough I took him out to Gary's and put "Grumpy" with his dog's and his dog's turned Grumpy into a fine rabbit dog, I got hooked into rabbit hounds and I would go out to Gary's every monday and he would turn that pack of dog's loose and the music them dog's made, Well it got me,
I told the wife I had to get me some more dog's, so now I got one rabbit dog running and three that aren't, as I said in the start of this, I drive O.T.R big trucks, and I don't have much time, and Gary lives about 45 miles from me and I would love love to meet some one in my area that shares my passion, and could help me run and help me turn my beagles into Rabbit dog's, I bought Two lemon's and They should be good ones, But I've also learned that paper's don't make the dog,
here's the write up on the grandpappy of my two lemon's.
1992 a young hound was registered with the United Kennel Club as Foundation Stock. Little did anyone know what a strong foundation it would become. Buster was virtually unbeatable in competition, losing only one cast in three years. He could run in all types of weather as proved in Iowa in 1994 when Buster won his cast. He was the only dog out of a 4-dog cast that continued hunting and jumping rabbits when 1-1/2 feet of snow fell during the hunt. At the 1995 Nationals in Indiana during a terrible drought Buster dominated a four dog cast. Buster won an incredible eight State Hunting Championships, plus two State Show Titles proving to be the U.K.C. Total dog in both competition and conformation. This year Buster was ranked the #1 sire in beagles by U.K.C., producing 4 Grands and 16 Champions. He sired hounds such as HBGRCH Got to go Jack, the 1997 Kansas State Champion, to the most recent HBCH Trail Blazer Buster, the 1999 All Age Male Buckeye Challenge Series Winner. All winnings put aside, all reproducing records put aside, Buster is the absolute epitome of a First Class Beagle. Truly Hall of Fame caliber!!

Thank you Chad, I would be honored to come up there and run My dog's with you, I Drive Big trucks for Ryder Trucking and work out of SpringHill Tennessee, pulling For the Saturn Corp, On Febuary the 19th My trucking partner got a drink of water and got choked on it and Passed out rolling the truck, he was in his seat belt and came out of the wreak un hurt, I got throwed around and messed up my upper back and neck, and I've been off work on workman's comp and hope to get back to work real soon, My back is about 80% , And I want to make sure its 100% before I go back to getting bounced around in a ol truck.
My Lemon's are real close to becoming Rabbit Dog's, and if I had a training pen to put them in, and a chance to run up on a rabbit,I think they would "BE HOOKED".
I would love to meet you and the guy your talking about in Clarksville, I have 6 A'kers (i can't spell) of land and I want to build be a training pen, But it seems like every time I get ahead some thing happen's, Thanks again and I maybe holloring at you soon, Tom
