rules for trialing? big pack vs small pack?
Where can I obtain a full set of rules for trialing? I Have what I believe would be an excellent big pack prospect. I am new to trialing and I dont think I fully understand the requirements for big pack. Any help would be appreciated. thanks, T.F.

From what I have seen so far, go to a Little Pack hunt. If you win, you will most likely have a dog that is competitive in Big Pack.team fudd wrote:Where can I obtain a full set of rules for trialing? After having run with, and judged Big Pack, the only difference I see is that a lot of Big Pack dogs are real good rabbit dogs, but they are a little slower than LP dogs in Ohio, KY, and WV.

thanks very much for the replies, I was kind of reading through the rules and I guess I thought dogs over 15" were excluded, thanks for the info, Like I say I am completely new to the trialing thing but have hunted rabbits and had hounds since I was 12. I want to see how my big red dog stacks up I guess. I am in southern ohio, any body have some suggestions where I could take him where there wouldnt be too much pressure on him or me off the bat? Just remember we all started somewhere right? thanks again guys! T.F.

In the arha rules it says specifically that the hound cant be over 15". Is this one of those unspoken deals where nobody really pushes the issue that the dog might be over 15"? Help me out here guys, I am getting conflicing answers here. thanks again everybody. T.F.

the guys that run the big pack regularly said the rules on the arha site are out dated. and,the updated rule is a height limit of 16".team fudd wrote:In the arha rules it says specifically that the hound cant be over 15". The ARHA Big Pack Board of Directors and member clubs voted two or three years ago to allow hounds up to 16 inches.
