Thanks buddy I'm Pounding Penicillin to her now, 4cc's for the next couple of Days, and Wound Knot. She seems to be getting Better. She won't be able go to Confluence in a couple of weeks but Kid and I will be there. Thanks again Buddy, see you in a couple of weeks.

I ran bear with dogs for about 40 years then I got too old to do it so I just got beagles now. We use to use mastitis medicine for cows when we got a punture wound. The medication is thick and we put it in the wound canal and it worked better than just using antibiotics by themselves. Any farm store should have some. It is designed to be used as a contact with the bad germs. Try it and you will be surprised how good it works. If you cant find any shoot the regular stuff right in the wound channel and try to keep it in there for awhile. The regular will work but not as good as the thicker medication.

Folks, I saw first hand this morning that the bells work. We had a couple young dogs out and a big ol yote came out, got within a hundred yds from the dogs and locked up in the middle of the hayfield! We were standing another hundred yds back. He didnt know we were there. Stood there a good 5 min. but wouldnt come any closer. My buddy let out a big sneeze and he was up and gone.
After I lost the hound I mentioned earlier,I wont run without bells on the hounds.

bells may work in some places but i had 2 females cut to shreds and both of them had bells on i still use bells best thing that has worked for me is if ya hear them yotes i fire a couple pistol shots n they usually leave but the yotes dont always make any noise when they sneak in they are bad here is southern wv anything is worth trying i heard some guys say using bells is like having dinner bells on your dogs jb

I used to run bells on my dogs and never had a problem with yotes. Then I got the Garmin and stopped using bells. Then my dogs were attacked.

Needless to say I am back using bells again. Some guys say they don't work, others say it acts as a dinner bell. But in my experience they have kept the yotes away.

Two friends and i were running 6 dogs on hare in northern michigan last fall. Only one dog was wearing a bell. As the dogs were hunting and dispersed within a small bowl/swamp, Yotes came in. There was no noise or sounds. Five hounds came out. They killed the only dog wearing a bell. We always wear tracking collars..My friend tracked into the dead dog..It was torn to bits. Just not sure if bells always work...

I use bells also and never had any problems until one day the dogs were running and ran right up in the area where the yotes den was and when they do that bell or no bell it doesn't make a difference, the yotes will protect their den. Yes we went back and killed 4 yotes in that den area.

Seems to me like they come to a squeeky dog. Only had it happen one time but that is what she was chirp, squeeky.

The other Two Dogs that was with Lady that Night, are Males and have a very Deep Loud Bark, They are Father and Son. But they where pretty far behind her. I already order my Bells off Chip. Lady has a high Pitch Bark. Thanks again guys for the Info it is really helping.

The best post I've read about yotes was from an old timer that said for every beagle a yotes kills he is replacing it with a yote hound. That's the ticket. Wherever yotes are run with hounds, beaglers don't have a problem. I want to try hunting yotes with hounds this year, sounds like great fun!
