too much mouth in akc??????????????????????????????

a mouthy dog will get you the walk of shame fast in akc, barkin too soon,in the check area, over runnin and givin mouth, ect is a huge no no,arha lp has the mouthiest dogs in the world, and they win,in akc,you better have a dog that knows when to bark and when not to,if it opens,it better have it and better run the line and no bs,akc by far promotes the best dog,and i feal that arha is basically a place where dogs that arent cut out for akc can still compete and win, what impresses me is a dog that can be successfull in any format, you get a dog like that,ya got something

good post danny,i'm glad to see i'm not the only one who will speak his mind.there will be good and bad in any format, but akc beeing too mouthy is the biggest load of $#!t i've ever heard.sometimes i think people just want to argue so bad that they will make statements such as this to have something to say.i've seen mouthy dogs in akc and as you said they were sent packing.

Thanks Danny,

That means alot to me and i think he will make Champion in 3 formats. ARHA,AKC, and he is a Champion in UKC now.He has only been in one AKC hunt.To me that shows me that JAKE can get it done in any format.

Thanks

well i wasnt going to post on this issue because i knew it would be a big argument but here it goes anyway.Every one that knows me knows i run little pack, but i have attended one AKC trial. At that trial i didnt see any mouthy dogs but i didnt see a dog leave the owners feet and one dog would start wimpering and getting ready to bark and the owner would holler at the dog in a rough tone to keep the dog from barking. When we had a break for lunch all you heard was people talking about what they were judging at the next trial as if they had forgot they were judging males or females and it seemed like it was said loud enough so that the judge of that day could hear.Im not down grading akc in any way this was just my observation of that day and in fact i do like the way it is set up but you would have to do a lot of traveling because the hunts are so far.I have found that i like ARHA big pack because your dog has to run for a constant 4 hours with other dogs male and females and there is no dog limit it they have 100 you have to beat 99 to win.

ok guys everone spread out and try to jump these dogs a rabbit. we only got 2 hours to judge them.what few akc trails i have been to i would picked most of pack up in 10 min. a real dog will jump his own rabbit. there is no credit given in akc for the jump. i will not own a dog if it cant jump its own rabbit.iam not beaten any bushes . thats the dog job isnt it?iam just saying that most of them need to picked earlyier in the cast. Little Pack much cleaner running dog. Hell akc even puts up with deer race.Little pack 3 times it gone.I even heard of a man running a 15 inch dog in a 13 inch class.

All you guys should just bring a folding chair and come run some
dogs with me  . I'll probably be sitting there talking while
the dogs are running and you might not feel cheated when it's
over  . Oh yeah If you want I'll let you judge the dogs
too  .

I love it when people think they know everything about one certian format but have either never read the rule book or have never judge it that format. Some of you don't have a clue! Is it true that in the AKC rule book that deer isn't considered off game? Yes. But is running deer considered disrupting the smooth running of the pack, Yes. Therefore most if not all of your judges in AKC will pick up the dog or dogs that run deer. Enough said there. Now moving on to the next topic. Some have posted AKC gives no points for jump. Seriously! Come on guys wake up. If a dog jumps a rabbit and I'm judging you better believe that dog will recieve a positive merit and this is true again with most if not all judges in AKC. Just because it doesn't say something such as 5 points for jump doesn't mean AKC doesn't score on jump. A true rabbit dog will be able to compete at any level and in any format period (with the exception of ubgf). Don't speak or write unless you know what you are talking about otherwise just shut the hell up please!

wow!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i cant believe my eyes, come on scott, you cant be serious, look up rough running dogs in the dictionary,i bet it says go to a lil pack hunt!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

this aint dirested towards any one person but ridge view said it best, some people dont know what the heck they are talking about

like i said earlier,i have never been to a ukc hunt,so,you dont see me puttin my 2 cents in on ukc,but i see p[osts from some people doggin akc that either never went to one or maybe went to one or two,and thing is,maybe you was at a trial that didnt have the best judges that day, believe me,i have been to a few of them myself, but that is the good thing about akc, once you figure out the good and bad judges, you know who is judging before ya leave the house,if you dont like runnin under tham, stay home,in lp,i have drove 14 hours and had to run under guys that i knew where goin to screw me,and they did,so,now i run akc,if i dont like the guy,i stay home,or go and watch someone else take the screwin for a change

but for the most part, akc judges are fair, shure there are a few bad apples but once the clubs notice them, they quit hiring them.................

Scott Scott Scott Scott!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Look what your collegues say! Are u serious! Just another example of your true ignorance!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Qoute: I prefer ARHA LP because winning is strictly a matter of accomplishment. Fast or slow, doesn't matter. Rough running or close track-to-track, doesn't matter. Hunt close or hunt wide, doesn't matter. If my dog jumps rabbits and gets checks, then it wins.

You are obviously Clueless!

But I want to say I have judged akc trials in which have had dogs entered who have been in past only entered in ARHA trials and they have performed very well. As matter of fact I judged a trial at Great Miami in Coshocton that a dog whom had only been entered in ARHA trials won the trial that day. Again any true rabbit hound can win and place in any format. I could careless the man on the end of the lead. I want to judge the dogs period!!

Go get'em Steven. I have read this post a thousand times and the more I read it the funnier it gets. Just like you said people making comments about something they know nothing about. I don't run ARHA and probably never will. That is just my preference. AKC has rules I like better and ARHA has some I like better. I just want a dog that is closer than most, I said most not all, ARHA hounds. Should AKC adopt the the 3 strike rule on off game?? Good question. But then it is up to the judges discretion who ran the off game, well was a 100 yds. really running it. So here we go just another arguement. Let the judge demerit them for disrupting the pack and go on. I got at at a derby this spring, a potential winning dog till the deer race.
All I hear from the ARHA guys is AKC judges that are not honest, come on guys wake up we all know the truth. There are good people and bad people in this world in your format our format and all formats and all walks of life. It is up to the club to not let those people judge. Here is the way I look at it. If you finish a dog with buddy judging, what the hell is it worth! Then if you go on to breed a dog that is not worthy and maybe even faulty, spread those pups around you really need to re-think what you are doing. Are you doing this because you love it, your ego, or money!

And the last thing, I am not sure where you guys get this AKC runs for an hour stuff. The first series might one hour per pack. The second series is going to from 1.5 to 2 Hours and I have seen the winner's packs last 4+ hours. In 90+ degree heat. I saw two dogs braced at a trial last year for 1.5 hours by themselves at the end just to determine the winner. You know its funny I don't see AKC poking at ARHA until they get poked at but the opposite isn't the same. Run what you love and love what you run!!!!!
