concrete slab for kennel floor

hey im about to pour a slab and was wondering what type of finish is best for a kennel, and best way to finish it, i was told dont make it real smooth or i will be eating the crap instead of cleaning it up, also what is a good sealant to use, if any. thanks in advance.

Good slope to drain and dry fast is most important.

best to just put a "magnesium float finish" on it. its not too slick but it isnt too rough for dogs pads either. as for sealer... id recommend an acrylic non-yellowing cure and seal. ask your concrete redimix dealer... most sell it. probably about $15 per gallon and if sprayed on, 1 gallon will do a 12 X 15 pad.

i would agree with both gentlemen on there advice. i just built a new kennel and didn't seal
the concrete and sure wished i would have. i do have a good slope and spray them off everyday so its not that bad. the pup's are terrible they get that stuff packed on everything i
usually have to scrape there pen down before i spray them of. the adult hounds not a problem.
good luck i believe these guys have you going in the right direction. they do make a good hose
sprayer thats 200 psi that is really nice and you won't use near the water you think you would. i
spray off my kennel each night its a six pen kennel each being five by ten and my water bill only went up ten dollars a month.
