Rising Sun is Paul webb's line, he's in Oh. Red Man was owned by Linton & Connie Cress & Don McCutchen owned him when he got killed on the road is what I was told. Paul Abell (CPC on here) has probably got as much Red Man blood as anyone. Cumberland River Kennels is owned by Jeff Arron in Russell Co.,Ky.

I have owned several linebred redman females and a male and all where bad about being growl with other dogs in the kennel and in the dog box. I outcrossed them with dogs that didn't have a growl in them and all the pups where growly in the box and kennel real bad around feed, never had one that was aggressive towards me but they always seemed to be fightin over something, but they all were above average jump dogs with good check work. I just couldn't handle the aggressive streak in them anymore. JMO

The two I have are the same way they are real growly around the food bowls and in the box but on the good not both of mine are above average dogs they hunt and jump alot of rabbits and are pretty fast dogs with descent line control. HUNT HUNT is what they all have.

I have a kennel full of redman dogs and I don't see the growling as a problem. From time to time I'll have a couple of dogs fight over food, but what dog won't fight over food. To be honest I've had only one redman bitch that would stand over the food bowl and growl the whole time she is eating and she was part klibers bill. And when I say I have a kennel full of redman dogs that comes out to be 16 dogs heavily line bred redman. Chris

I was told by a man in the know REDMAN himself had to be tied up in the box tight to the front or he would fight every dog in the box with him. I have seen it in alot of the dogs out of Damrons Halftrack that were super growly. They are not growly in the field but box and kennel watch out.

I have had this line of dogs (Redman) since the early 90's and have not seen the growley problem. From my experience they would rather not be aggressive at all. This is also the first I've heard of Redman being mean. I could be wrong but I dont think Damrons Halftract was any relation to Redman. Kenny :D

I have personally ran with or trained a bunch of Redman linebred dogs I have not had any problem with them ,thats all I have. One bad apple breeding or hunting can cause problems.I live in Boyd county KY. and I will run with anyone. Now that I have said that the next time I run they probly will have a fight.I like Herpins dogs and Buds blood will always be around here,my best dog is booked to him .I have no axes to grind with anyone jmo

If you think Redman needed to be tied up in a box you might need to research a little farther. I hunted with him a lot and never seen this about him. He was a very aggressive breeder, would cover a female in a minute or less, this is the only aggressiveness I ever saw in him other than jumping his share of the rabbits. I own and have seen a lot of Redman blood and would conclude his blood is no different than any other. Great, good, bad and in between. I have good results from what I raise. You feed what you like and I like the REDMAN blood.

Didn't mean to insult anyone or anyones dogs I was going by what I was told and the experience I had with the 7 or 8 I owned over the years and there offspring out of different lines I crossed in. I feel the same way feed what you like, I loved the w ay they ran a rabbit and there hunt and jump was outstanding I just didn't like there kennel/box manners.

Might have been the other line you crossed with, who knows. I have crossed with Bramlett , Maverick and Jim Swanger hounds from MI and had no problem in the box. I have also linebred and inbred with no problem. But that is just one mans results.
