BLACK SNAKE EATS COPPERHEAD PICTURES

Post by bradadkins »

We was mowing hay today and usually ya get a few snakes with the mower..well we hit a black snake..I noticed it was real big so i got off to look..then I saw a tail sticking out of its mouth..noticed right off it was a copperhead..so i got my camera and took a few pics to share..i pulled the copperhead out of the blacksnake to show the size of each..btw it was 20 yards from my dog kennels. So if you can..let the black snakes go ;) they do good work.

You sure thats a copperhead, maybe its the blood I see on the snake, just don't look like the patterns of a copperhead. If it is a copperhead then great.

I have seen blacksnakes hanging in barn rafters with rats inside them, digesting them. I say blacksnakes are really handy to have around, and Brad has confirmed it beyond a shadow of a doubt.

They are all baby rabbit eaters. I would eradicate them all if it was up to me. Had one get in a Bluebird house a couple of years ago. When he came out with 4 knots in his belly I had a hoe down.

Brad, your experience was better than mine. I killed this one Memorial Day. He/she was laying in one of the paths where we run. My dogs stepped own and over it several times.
