I noticed in your May 18 post @ 8:18 am in pictures # 11 &12 (I think), there is an empty space next to the dog box. I looks like if you would add a door there, it would be a good space to hold some some supplys. Collars, lead straps, small bowls or some medicines. Just a thought. Looks great. :D

yes there is dead space. I decided to not put a storage area. If you look at the other thread I have on the double decker kennel I built this time last year I provided a large storage area where I keep all my collars leads and what not. So on this one I went with out.

I bought wire yesterday. Went with 14g 1x2 square. I feel thats the best type of wire. Sturdy and dogs can't get there teeth around it and destroy it. this is for anyone out there. Stay away from 16g its to weak. Thats just my opinion.

I'm hoping to finish this project this weekend. I have 3 days off. I'd like to see it in place and dogs in it by Monday May 25th. Thats the goal I set for the project.

Just have to put up some more chew proofing kennel wire and figure out how to move the thing. which I bought 4 large heavy duty wheels that I will fasten to the legs so that I can push it across the yard.

I am finished with my Barn Kennel. Put into place May 25th. It was alot of work. Took me a month of building on the weekends. It was alot of hard work but was well worth it.

saturday I made center legs. after it had sat for a week the center started to sag. So I built center legs and that fixed the problem.

Man Joey, you sure put the work into it...

That sag was from the long runners being put on flat instead of on edge.
I would level and put 2'X2' pavers under each leg, as the legs settle into the ground you will see the sag again from the runners being put on flat ways.
If your going to "wheel-it" put the wheels under the end with the dogbox(heavy end) so it don't stress on the middle and you'll be lifting the lite end(if there is a lite end  )

Again, that sure is a purdy kennel...

thanks S.R.Patch. I see what you are saying about how I ran the runners. I wasn't thinking bout it saggin. Once I put those center legs it helped out alot.

It was a nighmare to move. I tell you what I don't want to do that again. But we got it done. Where it sits now the dirt is not level so I had to cut some blocks put them under the back legs to get it level as I can. Its not perfect just yet but I was running out of time monday. I batteled rain the entire day. I used a car jack to bring it up and down. And I want to make the small patio I have larger. But I hate messin with pavers. Its so hard to make it all level.

You just need one paver under each leg or just use some short pieces of scrap treated 2"x10", the legs need a flat foot under them or they'll sink, you need the surface area of the foot under the leg to support the weight. Kinda like wearing snowshoes... ;)
