You could call Branko and Frieda. I know they may be biased but I talked to Branko a few monthes back about breeding one of my bitches and he seemed to give me an honest opinion about his hounds. But you know what they say about houndsmen. lol

This is just second-hand, but some friends of mine in Michigan had Turbo at their house for a period of time. They ran him in their 40-acre pen. They said he was a nice-running hound, not break-neck fast, but had decent foot and cleaner than average.

Don Hoog would be the best to ask -- he owned, campaigned and finished Turbo. I think he gets on here sometimes.

Hard hunt and loud squalling mouth about a 7.5 on speed ,very good in the check ,he would drive it out

not to change the subject, but out of a high percentage of the branko line, do they have hard hunt or lack hunt? i have only had 5 myself (grandpups of Lumberjack and Mr. Postman) now 6yrs. old and they great runnin,track hounds but seem to lack in hunt.
my buddy has 2 , and he agrees also.

Just a reply to Dave. Hate to stray from post but here is a story on Branko dogs hunt . When my dad and I first started field trialing probably 6 years ago we were somewhere down in Kentucky at a trial . There was an older gentleman on the cast that for the entire hour bad mouthed Branko dogs continuing to say how none of them had any hunt, all speed no hunt over and over . The dog we had in the cast was from Branko and had a ton of hunt just like the rest of the dogs we have from Brankos do.When the cast was just about up he was admiring how hard our dog hunted and didnt miss anything or skirt the thick stuff , finally he asked just what is that dog out of?? Dad just told him while grinning from ear to ear " that there is one of them non hunting Branko dogs"

thanks ebag33 , as i said ,i have only had these 5 all mates and cannot give an honest opinion by just witnessing these 5. So your saying theyre known for great hunt ? some crosses dont work and as me and a buddy was talking, everyones got a habit or something to only speak of the stud dog and the dam is hardly metioned. imo its 50/50

Im just saying there are thousands of hounds out there that come from Brankos as well as all other big name bloodlines and your bound to see all ends of the spectrum in characteristics in these dogs. Of course just my opinion

seeing Turbo run or good second hand information .

Bev I had pictured Turbo being like you described him in
your post . Turbo has produced many GREAT hounds and
many great producers .

A great hound and a great producer doesn't alway go hand
in hand but a great producer can't be denied .

As for anyone who wants to argue please start your own
post .

i have asked this before and looked at pedigre many times even asked the branko's but nobody knows just were does all the blutic come from

Bev, interesting that the info you have on Turbo is that he didn't have blazing speed. I have seen a couple of hounds out of him by different females and both were the fastest beagles I have ever seen run a rabbit, and were surprisingly clean for the foot they displayed and the conditions hounds have to run in here in eastern Ky. I know that he threw powerful check hounds and clean running hounds, but I wonder if the foot I saw was coincidental, or if he put it in his pups from a generation back? Opinions and personal observations welcome, keep them positive and informative, please.

not trying to hijack anybody post or start any trouble but i have seen the pedigre and i just can't figure out with all the tri color and a lemon and white just were all the blue comes from everybody says it came from his mother well her sire was tri and her dam was lemon and white and none of heli-prop other sons produce all that blue
