I dunno about bio spot. Frontline is expensive but it works. I just buy the package for the big dogs and split it up between a couple of beagles.

I have used both. The Bio works somewhat until it gets wet, or rubbed of. Save your money buy the frontline. It works no matter what the condition.

Do a google on bio spot. You'll find that a lot of dogs have had bad reactions to it. I asked a vet about it. He said to stay away from it.

Its pestice and two of my dogs had seizures. There are whole sites about the negative reactions to bio-spot.

I tried Bio spot one year at the world hunt and I think it drew ticks in more than anything.

Not trying to dissagree but I've been using Biospot for years and never had anything but good luck out of it. However, if you are going to try it you may want to lean towards the brand Zodiac. If you compare the ingredients they are identical and about half the price.
I hate to hear about you guys having troubles with it, what does the vet say is the reason for the harmful side effects?

It's been a few years, but if I remember correctly my vet said that the Bio Spot absorbs into the dogs internal system and into the nerves and organs. Frontline works differently and does not absorb into the dog internaly.

I've been using bio spot for about 4 yrs now without any problems. Just don't use it on pregnant bitches.

Bio spot is garbage in my book. I had two dogs have allergic reactions to it a couple of years ago, they couldn't stand up looked like they were drunk staggering all over the place, happened on a weekend and had to pay weekend emergency vet fees, cost me almost 600.00. There was talk at one time about taking bio spot completely off of the market because there were so many adverse reactions to it. Just do a search on bio spot and you will find hundreds of people who have had major problems with bio spot. Frontline is a much better product hands down and it lasts a lot longer. You can buy it cheaper by ordering it from the Pets megastore in austrailia. I have been ordering it from them for about 5 years now.

Bio Spot Contains a pesticide known as pyrethrin, piperonyl butoxide, & precor IGR Frontline Contains fipronil and S-methoprene K9 Advantix uses imidacloprid and permethrin

Front Line is the best of breed here in effectiveness and safty not containing the heavy comercial pesticide of BIO Spot and not the overly safe Advantix with it's "Natural Ingredients"

Heart Guard Contains Ivermectin which prevents Heart Worm and kills the Fleas and Ticks. We use Cattle Grade Pour On Ivermectin 2cc between the shoulders every 28 days and find Ticks dead on the dogs all the time and have no flea issues. This solutions only works for Dogs no good for cats and is dangerous in high doses. But controlled keeps Fleas, Ticks, Biting Mites, and Heart Worm from getting a start and only need supplement with a broad spectrum wormer to control Tape Worm.

Caution should be exercised also on a dog that may have Heart Worm. Heart Worm Prevention is great but Killing the heart worms in an infected dog could kill the dog. For Safety a Heartworm test should be performed by a vet before starting any Ivermectin treatments.

Just one guys experience I can do my entire kennel for 2 years for $30 instead of $1400 for BIO Spot or Front Line and have had a lot of luck treating this way but different things work well for different folks.

Frontline all the way. I have used Bio spot with success but if it still has the same ingredients then the fleas build up an immunity over time. Thats what happened in my case. It just wouldnt kill the fleas anymore.
