Information on line control hounds

Post by davidn »

I am looking for some opinions on lines of dogs that has line control about medium to medium fast speed and hard hunt.Like for them to be in or around ky so that I can see them run.Progressive pack style hounds what I am most interested in.Thanks David Norman

Try an Iron Eagle X Northway cross dog. You may find something out of Reffets Bleu Rocket out that way. If they bred him to a conservative bitch it would fit right in.
He hunts HARD.

My Reject dog would do really well in PP. He hunts hard and can lock on a rabbit. Im breeding a female now for a friend that hunts hard that has upper medium speed that has very good hunt and Line control. She will bark early some, but not too bad. Dont you get a longer strike time in PP???

David

The pair I have out of my old Jenny dog and Buzz run that style, I think the one's that the Ashbaugh's have may be a little more loose. I bred her back to a male I raised out of my old Boomer dog and they appear to all be that way - just started two females and the two males come out of the starting pen this week. If they continue to get better, I'm gonna make that cross again.

You been runnin' with the big man any?

Hey Mike glad to hear from you buddy .No i haven't ran with the BIG STUMP  [Tony] lately.I also bred to buzz but that cross of male dogs were to fast for my likeing.I still have a male out of Buzz x New hope that runs a track the way that I like and hunts pretty decent .I am going to either breed my female to a medium speed hard hunting line control male or try to find a young male dog that can do it the way I like it .Planning to go to a few progressive pack hunts and run my female in to see what else is out there. Thanks everyone that posted and keep it comeing. Try Don Bramlett , he raises beautiful black an tans. Made a trip from Texas and bought 2 female pups from him. They are nice houndy looking dogs. I have 1 at a starting pen now.
